Email CNN About Fredrick Mclean's Upcoming Appearance on "The Hunt" with John Walsh!
by BucketShopBill ini am getting a nasty feeling john walsh is not going to mention the kingdom hall and the watchtower's scandalous conduct of covering up their hard working productive elder pedophiles!
the watchtower put more effort in protecting their pedophiles than helping victims of the crimes.
i know elders are instructed to call hq first because the watchtower needs to figure out how to avoid any responsibility and instruct the elders to avoid as much contact with victims while guiding the pedophile through his trials and dangers!

I've been gone for 13 years, but they do know I'm around. I wonder if any effort will be made to contact me. There hasn't been before. I figured they just threw away my card.

JWs at the Edinburgh Festival
by passwordprotected inmy girlfriend and i took the train through to edinburgh to soak in the atmosphere and catch a few free comedy shows at the fringe festival.. almost immediately i spotted them; jw.org witnesses.. how did i know it was them?.
well, the middle-aged, tall man wearing the suit, shirt and tie was a big clue.
that and the fact that he was holding the hand of a similarly tall, middle-aged woman, dressed in the jw uniform of long skirt, blouse and light summer jacket.

I had a similar experience last week. I went with current JW's to Hollywood Blvd for some sightseeing. HB was packed with tourists, a zoo. I saw two sets of trolleys. The first was planted on the busiest corner, Hollywood and Highland, where you almost tripped over them. It must be their instructions to get right there in the middle. Then we saw them later pushing the trolleys up and down the busiest block, right by Gruman's Chinese. They were right in the middle of all the characters in costume who are paid when they pose with tourist. The JW's I was with seemed really embarrassed. Of course they wouldn't say much around me. The whole charade spoke loudly enough as it was.

So ignorant. I say let them keep talking more and more.
Nothing like a corporation with ignorance at their moral core.

Sooo....
Long story short, former JW friends came out to visit a still JW friend and decided (after 13 years) they'd love to see me. I had mixed feelings, but agreed to the visit which was a day touring the LA and Hollywood area. For breakfast we ended up at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles and right there on the corner was a literature trolley. The two attendees were very engaged in a discussion between themselves on a very crowded corner with people waiting to cross the street in various directions. Odd place IMO. The comments in the car were seemed like they were embrassed about this new form of witnessing.
So, later on a veryt hot and humid Hollywood Blvd, we see another. Right on the corner of Hollywood and Highland...prob the busiest corner of the street. People have to almost trip over them. Seems they fit right in with the Scientologist who also canvass the street passing out pamphlets. I turned to my group and said "your people!" We saw two groups of trolleys pushing the carts up and down Hollywood Blvd.
At the same time there was a group of a dozen, elderly, Christian evangelists (possibly Korean) with signs and singing hymms...and a Michael Jackson impersonator right next to them. I have a 14 second video but I don't know how to post it.
Anyhoo...wow. These trolleys are right there in the middle of it.

Said from the platform: "You are not surviving Armaggedon if you are spiritually weak"
by Daniel1555 intoday i was at the meeting (i go there about once a month now).
in the service meeting they had a part where they interviewed the secretary of the congregation.. so one question was: "why are the service reports so important?".
our secretary explained that the reports are important, because the elders can see, who is spiritually weak.

The comments in this thread are similar to the ones I heard at my last meeting. I had a moment of clarity and never went back.
As a side note, we had a crazy CO come through maybe '72-73, and he said from the platform to look around the KH because only 1/3 of those in attendance were going to survive Armageddon. I was young, looked around and figured I was toast. I stayed in though...for too many years after that.

Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

Interesting thread darth. I looked at the points and I identified with about half of them. I always say "I'm shy," and never considered the introvert aspect. If i have to be "on," I can do it easily...but if I had my druthers, I can be very happy in a corner with a book for a loooooong time.
