  Anyone been to Barcelona????

  i'm off to barcelona in a month's time and wondered if any of you have been and could recommend hotels, restaurants, areas to visit etc?

  Ditto on everything Lowden said. (Even the part about Paris...was just there in September!!)

  I suggest seeing anything and everything Gaudi, because you won't see anything like it anywhere else. Be sure and visit the homes he designed...just all a wonder.

  Fountains at night on weekends when they play the music.

  Picasso museum as well and Gothic quarter.

  Be prepared to dine late and they have a most serious siesta...2-3 hours and NOTHING is open...you have to go with the flow.

  Enjoy!!! I am envious.

  Yes to #1, rare...but happens. Not necessairily "lust in first sight," IMHO.

  #2...I think so, and also think there can be more than one...God I hope so.

  Hey! I still have one of those bottles! I was sent it by a Bethelite...I always thought it was for real.

  Then I showed a CO one time and he came unglued. It's fun anyway...it's on my bar.

  BTW...I thought the video was creepy...shaming everyone who didn't listen to the dubs.

  Damage!

  Absolutely. Any organization that tries to keep their people from being all that they can be, that discourages education and personal growth damages the human spirit.

  I didn't have the guts to break away when I was younger like some of you did. I applaud you! So some responsibility is mine...but it is a lot to ask to leave everything you ever knew, family friends, belief. All I can say is I'm out now...damage and all, and happier than ever.

  Last I heard he was in Malibu. They had a trailer on the same lot as the KH. I believe he is serving as an elder in the congo...probably as special pioneer, that's usually what they do.

  Yep, an exceptionally fine couple those two.

  to reading and public speaking.. education or propaganda?

  If you read all the Awake magazines it is equivalent to a college education.

  That's what we were told.

  LOL.

  Seriously, I think in the TMS you could learn how to pull subjects together. Better than a debate class, probably not...but you could learn something. And public speaking. Trouble is, the TMS overseer position is usually a "new boy" job and you don't get the best counselors. I dropped out when they appointed a new overseer that was proficient in ebonics. (Not that there is anything wrong with it.) I could not learn from him.

  I told everybody "I graduated" from the school.

  I too had a love/hate relationship with it...but I'm hooked now.

  Does anybody else get annoyed at the quantity of closeups of Christina's consistently furrowed brow face? And Georgie's confused face? Maybe I'll count them tonight.

  I almost wrote the show to tell them to back off...too many closeups!!

  But I am duly hooked now.

  If Only I'd Had...

  if only i'd had..., or if it wasn't for so and so, i'd be...i found myself thinking this many times since i did the fade.

  then i realized from this forum and books that i have read, that it doesn't matter how true we believe these statements to be, we need to stop looking back, fiqure out the next step to go forward, and keep going.. we'll never change anything that has already happened, but the future is already ours to mold.. what do you think about this?

  Oh my goodness...all the time BB.

  If only I had gone to Alaska during the boom in the 70's, I'd be set for life.

  If only I had taken someone up to finance me through school to get my degree. (Oh no.......I didn't need that...GT was coming any moment in the 70's.)

  I really mourn over lost/wasted years. But I am learning to not look back, and only look ahead.

  Born in. Parents baptised 1938. You know i have ALWAYS throught if a JW came to my door, and I was a non JW, I would NEVER believe that load of c**p. So I always wondered "why oh why oh why" did my parents.

  Now, I do think my mom has an addictive personality...not to food or liquor...but she does to the JW. It is crazy...she never developed any interests outside the JW, no hobbies, no talents. Everything centered around the organization. Even now, in her 90's, it is nuts. She is anti-social in the nursing homes, except when she can preach. It is very off balance. She is "so excited" to study the Rev book. (**sigh**) Lucky me.
