27Bad Day !
by stevenyc inevery now and then a day can put things into perspective.
i can be pissed because; a car driver cuts me off while riding a bike, verizon want me to pay bs charges on my phone bill, or thirdwitness is defending the watchtowers abuse policy.
but, today, my uncle fell down the stairs and shattered his skull.

by Anti-Christ injust wanted to share something with you all.
about a month ago i call my very active jw father and ask him a few questions about an awake article (the famous one oct 8 1968) and about the "obedience and submission" article and to call me back and give me some information.. well he did not call back and friday my sister in law calls me and tells me that some jw are saying i am an apostate.
i ask were did they get that from ( because i have not talk to any jw about my findings, except my dad) and to my surprise she said my dad.

Did You Use Swear Words While You Were A Witness?....How About Now?

when i was in my 30's i started to say "funny"swears.
now, i do use some profanity but it is always controlled.

The last few years as a dub my language went to pot. But many of the JW's around me used profanity regularly, including the f-word, and still do.
A few years ago I noticed that I was cursing very little. After thinking about it I realized that for the most part, the cursing, and most cursing, comes from frustration. Now that I'm less annoyed and frustrated...so went the cursing, for the most part.
It's there should I need it again, dammit!!

Curious-Anyone know if Charles Sinutko/Phil Hayworth are still in ......?
by fedorE ini used to collect audio tape talks and came to actually idolize ppl like sinutko....when he spoke it sounded like it was coming from heaven...he gave a talk on 1975 where he said, " i dont think the society has ever told you u couldnt read literature critical of the society...." wonder if he ever left or phil hayworth from australia, amazing speaker who's gave a talk on the last days of jesus and made it really personal...anyone know if this guy ever left?

But if the Tower can still stand after all these beatings, I doubt that it would crumble with new revelations ... or at least right away. It already has a few generations who have given it all their lives, and I doubt they would be willing as a whole to abandon their "Mother". The WTS may gradually stop growing, reorganize, or even shrink, but I suspect it will be around (probably in much the same form) for a good time to come.
I totally agree. Don't think it's going anywhere.
Not to say I sure did visualize it's implosion 10 years ago or so, with a reform WTBS with all "us" freedom fighters there to save the day. Oh puleeeeze.

I had read that earlier on CC and copied it to several friends. One response was probably regarding the affiliations of the WTBS and its presidents to other religions and fraternities etc.
I have had a chance last weekend to be around many former friends. Their heels are deeply dug in...I almost think nothing will sway them because they think they lose everything. People are pioneering that never did before...I was surprised.
Man...I hope it big...I really want to say "I told you so!!!"

I was about 95% sure I was right the day I made up my mind to leave...that I didn't want to be one of them when I grew up.
A couple of times I had some wierd flashes "What if they are right???" moments. Then I look at the crazy organization and the mind control over the flock...and I am soooo 100% sure now.
They are nuts.

Shunning....Society bases it's stance on Early Roman Catholic Church!
by restrangled ini am sure many of you long time members are very familiar with this historian but for anyone who hasn't heard of him before, including myself, i think this is extremely helpful.. the wbts quotes the historian, edward gibbon, to support their stance on shunning in today's world.
(1988 watchtower article on their website today, ....but since moved.).

This has been a difficult week for reasons I cannot go into. Everyday this week has been frought with dealings in my family between family elders, faded JW, and non witnesses. Needless to say, the JW's are angry and embarassed when they lose their battles...but goodness me...what GD nerve they have.
It is absolutely draining this fight. And I am afraid there will be fallout...PO's will be called to follow up with us, to try and get us to say something to implicate us on something. It's CRAZY!!! And mean, and unkind...at a time of grief.
I am grateful to have a place I can come and vent, and find fellow feeling in this stupid war I seem to be in.
