  i have observed that jehovah god is far from the loving father he portrays himself to be.

  stifling my sex drive, and then exploiting it by using it to get me into a cult, hardly qualifies god as being loving.

  and neither does continuing to stifle the sex drive after i am trying to leave the cult and quite likely using the hounders to reclaim me as their slave.. i found another web site that any theist should urgently look up before looking into any religion, whether jehovah's witnesses or any other "christian" or islam religion.

  Why I will NEVER be an elder again

  so the po confirmed what many on this board already know.

  at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.

  any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.

  I did not go to college because of the witness doctrine. Now I'm pushing 59 and fairly poor. Which is ok, however, I would have loved to had a degree in something I wanted to do. 148 I.Q. waisted.

  in acts 1:5 it says that john baptised in water, but that who he was talking to would hereafter be baptised in holy spirit.

  does that mean that they would not be baptised in water thereafter?

  words of wisdom at the kingdom hall went something like " don't marry for looks because looks fade.

  " what i want to know is if the person you married turns out to be a crabby old miserable so and so how do you cope with ugly personality plus ugly looks.i mean if you marry a looker at least you have enjoyed some vision of delight, if you get stuck with both you are in a double bind.

  or do they merely pay lip service to the idea?

  i have no doubt that some of them sincerely believe.

  but when i was a kid, growing up in the '80s, i didn't know of a single witness, myself included, who didn't believe the end was close.

  I volunteer in a Pet Store, at the cat consordium, and my boss mentioned something I never thought I'd hear her say:

  It was just after the Rekivik (Sorry about the spelling) (Multiple Scelrosis brainfog) earthquake. She said, "Well it looks like the Jehovah Witnesse's were right abut the world coming to an end."

  I told her, well, most of the preachers are saying that now......Not immenent....someday, the great tribulation may be having birth pangs, but we have a way to go, quite a way to go.That's my belief

  I find it hard to believe anyone who has left the JW's, could join any organized religion!!!!!

  I studied Catholisim before a JW gave me the "truth" book, back in '67. I thought the Catholics went against Bible scripture. Especially with the worship of the statue of Mary. I was a Sunday school teacher from the age of 12. Methodist Doctrine. I was against that and left the church I was brought up in.

  women - do you love being around men?

  i only ask because i realise that for over 20 years i just love being around women.

  it's not just for sexual reasons either, though that's important sometimes, i just really like being around women.
