  Did you ever "preach" at work?

  oh, i remember in my early jw days, i didn't miss an occasion to preach at work.. i was working as electrician in a paper mill, and i remember talking to a colleague about the generation that wouldn't pass...... gee, if he saw me today, i,m sure he would remember what i told him, and i wouldn't know what to say.... .

  I am sure you could find something to say JH. Just tell them that you gave up the fine fight of the faith. That over the years you have grown weak. That your zeal for Jehovah has dimished to a luke warm puddle. Tell them you still go to the meetings here and there but dont practice anything you learn. You can tell them now you have chosen to fight not for Jesus but against him, it is a less stressful life not having to live up to Bible standards. You can even tell them that you have become a Cameleon, how you are one way at the meetings and another way outside. You can tell them that you have even went as far as BASHING and making fun of the very ones you associate with on discussion boards to fit in with the rest. Boy there is alot that you could say, maybe just tell them you have hurt Gods feelings and just don't care anymore!

  i've been re-thinking about what to say when jw's come knockin'.

  i've thought about what the scriptures say about jesus' words to the pharisees and think perhaps i might say, "i don't have any interest in the doctrines and writings of the scribes and pharisees of the wts.".

  or maybe i could just say, "yall're just wts nazis and you look down on everyone else as if they were jews during wwii, so i'd prefer not to converse with you.".

  Why don't you just handle it the Christian way and say I am not interested. Don't be mean and hateful, just tell them to go away and not to come back. Is that so hard?

  DF'd for Son's Bday??

  we're having my seven-year-olds first birthday party at the local chuck e. cheese (yeah, i know but it's what he wanted).

  i don't especially care, but if a dub sees us and reports us (as you know they would), can be we be df'd?

  like i said, i don't particularly care, and wouldn't be sorry either.

  If you are worried about being DF'd, have the party on a meeting night

  Here's another idea, if you so worried about getting disfellowshipped stop celebrating birthdays! Or, if you do not want to, take Jesus advise, either be hot or cold....not luke warm!

  DOESN'T THIS PUT JWS TO SHAME BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T PUT A TRACT THROUGH MY DOOR,AND THEIR CLAIM IT IS LIFESAVING WORK.

  Not really. Jws spend more hrs and time and energy spreading the Goodnews than ANY other Christian claimed religion. So getting a tract through the mail is not all that impressive. Whats impressive is spending MILLIONS of hrs going from door to door every year and doing at thier own cost.

  jesus said, "i am the way, the truth, and the life.

  " he didn't say he had the way, or that he had the truth, or that he had the life.. according to the bible, jesus is the truth; if you know the truth, the truth will set you free.. jehovah's witnesses set their dogma and religion in the place of jesus.

  they refer to their dogma and religion by a role that jesus said he would personally fulfill; they call it "the truth.".

  The Bible is clear that servants of Christ can be in the truth. Jesus IS the truth, and his servants are in him. However, Jesus is NOT a religion or a religion's dogma.

  If that were the case then, the entire New testament of the bible is null and void. It is quite clear in those books, that After Jesus, the CHRISTIAN Congregation was started. Based on Christ teachings the Congregation ran. The truth of Jesus was manifested through the teachings (dogma) through the newly formed Religion, which was refered to as the WAY!

  What is the purpse of the Jehovahs witnesses

  i have been on this site for a while looking around at all your comments and most of you have pretty good arguments and i am not trying to argue for either side i am just wondering and maybe this has already been discussed but what is the purpose of the jehovah's witnesses most of you believe that the jw organization is a cult and that they are controlling the minds of their people, but why are they trying to control the minds of the people?

  is it to get their money?

  is their reports of the jws having like billions of dollars stashed away?

  The purpose of JWS are to preach, teach and make disciples. Jesus commanded his followers to spread the Goodnews of Gods Kingdom. That is JWS number one priority. Also, there purpose is to serve the Tue God Jehovah, like his son Jesus did. Jesus said he made his name known among men and will continue to. JWS represent The true God.

  Girl Scouts

  hey all.... i grew up 'worldly' and was a brownie, then a girl scout for about 7 years.

  i had a blast.

  we took trips and participated in community activities such as volunteer work.

  Whats wrong with a promise of a better life hun? wouldn't you welcome positve and lasting changes? I know you would.

  Two Christians just came to my door....knock knock

  i let them in - and after they installed my new phone service [yes they were with the cable company], we had a nice discussion about our mutual faith [practiced in three distinct manners].. the installer first looked at my desk, and saw a copy of the kit [i was just listening to a mp3 audio that debunks it totally] , a copy of steve hassan's 'combatting cult mind control' [a recent gift from another poster here on jwd], a copy of reverand lingle's book 'approaching jehovah's witnesses in love', and a copy of 'church history in plain language'.

  a glance at my bookselves revealed a dozen bible translations, and dozens of apostate volumes [coc, isocf,gtr, etc].

  so he knew right off that i must be religious.. we had a nice conversation after they were done.

  Another thing... real Christians don't see faults in other people as quickly as JW's do because they have Christ's Spirit living in them and treat others as He would.

  I agree with you honesty. But JWS are not the only ones that are quick to find fault in people. Heck, just being on the board the short time that I have been, I have noticed this board is filled with such individuals, some even claiming to be Christian.

  Holes in the Kingdom

  there are more cracks we will be discovering in the kingdom of the heaven in the watchtower and i am going to ask you this: if christ did return to kingdom power in 1914, then how come we are not feeling the effects of his rule at this time?

  is it reason to believe that jesus return to earth will be a future event and that it will be very much visible and that we will feel the effect of his return to the earth by crushing all these kingdoms?

  Well agapa, you certainly spell like a Jehovah's Witness. Did'nt they offer remedial english classes in your Janitorial degree program?

  It seems both, you and me were not offered remedial english classes in our janitorial degree program! Did'nt is spelled didn't. Before you try to capitalize on someone elses spelling errors because of prejudice and write a smart comment, make sure you know how to spell yourself!
