The Watertower society can do whatever they want but the rank and file must toe the line and be in submission.

The WTS fornicating with CESNUR
by greendawn inthe wts is a member of cesnur an organisation that seeks to promote new religions and to oppose anti cult actions by governments on the grounds that these are attacks on personal and religious freedom.
surprise surprise the other members of this organisation make up a strange brood: mormons, scientologists, new agers, ramtha's school of ancient wisdom, etc.
clearly the wts that criticises mainstream christianity so much chooses to join forces with such dubious religions in cesnur.

Were you afraid of what they thought about you in the Kingdom Hall?

throughout my tenure as one of jehovah's witnesses, i could not help notice how individuals.
became so conscious of what others thought about them.

When you want to belong you compromise to fit in. When you dont care anymore then you leave. I think thats human nature.

Why are elders so serious?
by JH inall that they do, they seem so stiff and serious.
often i will see elders still dressed in a suit hours before or after a meeting.
i'll see other elders cars parked in front of an elders home, and they are in a meeting discussing something serious.. can't these guys relax a bit and get a life out of the borg?.

Why are elders so serious?
I would think there are many reasons. Some I think are sincere and havent awoken yet. When I was a witness I was sincere until I saw the light. And I was looking for that light as long as I can remember.

Challenging the Discussion Board with Unsettling Questions
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #990066; } .style2 { font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; } .style3 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; } .style6 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; } body { background-color: #ffffea; } --> does the watchtower live with you everyday?
this post contains reasonable questions due to the fact.
that individuals who no longer claim to be one of jehovah's.

I am here because I like the counter I am trying to get to the next level. I think it might be 500 post. But I do know something about the subject JW's as I was adversely affected by them for 33 years. And arguably for an entire lifetime. Everything I am and do today was shaped by my formative or unformative years. The Watertower society gave me someone or somebody to blame all my short commings on. Why I wasn't able to live life to the fullest. The watertower society gave me lemons and I got a pretty cool lemonade stand going now. On the positive side, had I not been a witness I may have been killed or crippled in Viet Nam. Not really cause I had a high number. If I wasnt a witness I dont know what I would have been, because my parents were not very guiding or supportitve or concerned with my future. But overall I think being a witness was a very negative experience. So I guess Im here for the counter. Im trying to unwind after work. And I do know something about the subject. If I wasnt a witness it could have been good or it could have been bad, I have no way of knowing, so I will be happy with the life I have today. This is kind of like the movie the butterfly effect.

I call it the watertower society because when I was a little boy thats the way my uncle erroniously reffered to those goofy magizines my mother had laying around the house. Watertowers.

Why did you choose the Alias that you did?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #663399; } .style2 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;} .style7 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #353185; } .style8 {color: #353185} --> why did you choose the alias that you did?
being curious about why people do or act the way they.
do led me to this discussion.

Jaguarbass. I play guitar keyboards and bass guitar. I took the name to get yahoo email. Jaguar is a model of guitar that fender makes and nobody else was using it on yahoo. Whereas there are many rickenbackerbass and fenderbass and gibsonbass. I also use jaguarbass to advertise for music gigs. Some people think my alias is a fish, like a bass fish. Its not its a guitar, like a bass guitar. Pronounced base, spelt bass a quirky english thing. It has nothing to do with the watertower society.

NOT REALLY SURPRISED!
by Dansk inwell, it had to happen one day - only claire and i thought we'd be somewhat older and karl would have finished his university course.
karl telephoned earlier this week to let us know we're to become grandparents!
as karl is only 21 and has just started university i felt like reading the riot act - but what's the point!
