There is nothing sacred about reading a magazine or a book for 2 hours. If the meeting is supposed to be sacred, why not read DIRECTLY from the most Holy Book, The Bible? Why can't the WTS make it this simple? The answer is easy, without their array of books, the WTS can't control us. If everyone read the Bible the way the WTS dares us to, we would all realize that the WTS is a fallacy.

i mean a bunch of priests burning animals two thousand years ago to uphold a law that they aren't even supposed to follow.

I thought I was the only one that noticed this. It's strange how JWs speak ill about Jews and Judaism, yet at every convention they have a 'drama' based on what else, the good example of a faithful JEW.

and he said unto them, with desire i have desired to eat this passover with you before i suffer: for i say unto you, i will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of god.

This is merely proof that the New Testament (or the authors of it) are full of contradictions. This is why God could not have been the author of it (unlike the Hebrew scriptures).

i wanted to put out a warning, because so many people think the jw's are "good people" and may get sucked in before they know it.

Our search for God is a journey. Like any long trip, there are detours and stops along the way. Pick up a copy of the Tanakh and read it. Leave all you preconceived ideas behind and just read it with an open mind - God will handle the rest for you.

Tanakh = Hebrew Scriptures.

Read the original - it will amaze you.

i can't believe after what they have been handed they continue to exact rules before they sit down and talk to everyone in the region.. what happened to "keep your friends close but your enemies closer?

" something has to change and it isn't just troop levels.

Is there any Hope?

hi guys, i'm hoping that you may be able to answer a question for me as you seem to have a pretty broad range of experience with the jws, about a year ago i met the most fantastic woman i've ever met, we 'clicked' straight away went on a few dates, held hands, cuddled in country pubs but i never got more than a peck on the lips when we said goodbye.

she soon informed me that she was a jw, i didn't really know anything about them except for when they knock on my door on a saturday, so i said ok, we'll deal with it.

she's adamant that we can't be together unless i'm a jw too, i know that this doesn't have to be the case but it's her decision.

Buddy, take it from someone who was married to a JW chick - YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME!

Even if you married this woman, you will never be happy because she will always feel guilty that she got hitched to a 'worldly' guy and not one of the 'flock'. Not to mention that neither of you will ever agree on matters related to money, children and certainly not entertainment or politics. You're going to spend your life with a zombie - lacking ambition, dreams and thoughts of her own.

Breaking up is like getting kicked in the balls - just walk it off and you'll soon get over it.

If we are supposed to do what God says in the Bible, here's my question...

WHY CAN'T WE JUST READ IT FOR OURSELVES IN THE BIBLE AND BE LEFT THE F--K ALONE?

If I read the Bible, understand God's commandments and try to keep them as best and sincerely as I can, what makes me different than a JW? Preaching? Where the f--k does God say in the Bible that we have to go preaching? I don't want to know what Jesus said because he's dead and he created NOTHING. Where does God say we have to go preaching? If he didn't command it, I'm not doing it.

I don't mean to sound irate but I really want the WTS to disappear.

Thanks to the person who scanned the book. Once again, the WTS hijacks the Hebrew scriptures and twists everything in their favor. If the JWs believe they have the 'true' religion, why do they use the stories of Jews from ancient times? After all, aren't the Jews condemned or doomed to destruction for rejecting Jesus? Why use moral examples from people who God has rejected to represent him on earth? Why not use examples of real JWs?
