It struck me as strange when I first heard that they were outsourcing some of thier food. But, after reading these posts it makes sense. I guess that if god was behind you wouldn't all of your endeavers be profitable.

by Pierced Angel indang!.
things happened with my mom (dad couldn't get back from his out of town job) and i ended up being guilted into going to the memorial with her after all.
at least she agreed to take the kids home with her afterwards so my friend and i could still go out for a few drinks afterwards (which were much needed after that experience).. i'm da'd so many there smiled when they saw me and it immediately froze on their faces as they tried to look the other way.

This is a really good one....
by Inquiry inhey all..... i recently heard the funniest prank..... a neighbour of mine came over, with a beer i might add.... nice fellow... and during conversation found out that i used to be a witness... he was asking me questions and then he got this funny smirk on his face... i thought it was something i said, so i asked him what i did.... he started laughing and said he was just remembering what he and a friend did about three years ago around christmas time..... i had been out of the borg for over a year at that point.... apparently, these two pranksters... of course whilst drinking deeply of the barley and hops laden waters of life.... went to a canadian tire, bought $75 worth of christmas lights (about $5 usd...lol) and in the wee hours of a sunday morning... put them up around my old kh and lit them up for all to see when they came in for the 10 am meeting..... i asked around and apparently it's true!
laugh!
i thought i'd die!!!!!

It makes me sad to see the little ones eyes brighten up when they see the Christmas lights, and they know that they will not get to see them. makes me wonnder how they will make up for a lost childhood.

JWs- Evolutionary failures.
by refiners fire ini have the feeling this idea has been posted before by someone..however.... in evolutionary/ genetic terms the witnesses are a failing experiment.. they have discouraged large families, hence they are not winning in terms of numerological growth.. they have discouraged education.
so they are not winning in terms of societal prestige/ success.. they have failed abysmally!
!law of evolution says they must wither and become extinct.. the mormons are doing much better.. they breed like crazy.. education, im not too sure about...

all of the 13-16 year olds that are going to be baptized are going under pressure from thier parents, even though they have been told it is of thier oown will. But every good witness child knows the consequences if they do not get baptized.
poor kids.

Memorial Scrabbling
by Demitrius inwell they are scabbling around to find as many people to attend the memorial again this year.. i walked out 3.5 years ago and have not heard anything since from the elders.
i have one that lives about 50 metres away and he is one that has not even telephoned me in all that time.
.. just the other night he turns up on my door step and hands me the usual invite!

It is thier way of inflating numbers. I am not sure if there is a cutoff age for counting people that attend, but I am sure that if you can walk in you are counted. So, that means if a baptized mother comes in with her two unbaptized children there will be three people counted. Even if the children didn't have a choice on coming.

Did Jesus Sin?
by KJV inhave you ever wondered why god dealt with man up until the first century c.e.
and then for the last 2,000 years we haven't heard from him?
could it be that god is upset with mankind for killing his son?

There are a lot of what if's that have to be answered before you start discussing jesus christ. What made him different from all of the other saviors that were stumbling around during that time. Why are the only writtings about him just in the bible, except for a few possibly phony additions to early writtings.
One of the problems with talking to a "believer" is that they just believe some of the stuff that you want proven.

just the same as usual. You never see these people until that one celebration a year that they get to celebrate, and they want to invite everyone.

Looks like a question that I have spent some time pondering, so that I will give my two cents worth, and hopefully before this discussion gets to old.
Before I get in to this to far I want to point out that I believe this to be just another myth that, like what was said earlier, has the gods holding something back from man.
I had quite the argument with my JW wife over this exact problem, and it took us an hour before I heard that “sometimes it just doesn’t make sense but you have to believe anyway”.
It is very obvious who was the liar, and who wasn’t, and that this was just the first test of many that god put before humans. Now, if we believe that this was a tree of knowledge of right and wrong, then we have to know that they did not have this knowledge before eating from the tree. Think of the little game that you could play with a three year old. Who still doesn’t quite grasp the difference of what is bad yet, give them a marshmallow and tell them that you will leave the room for ten minutes, when you come back if they still have the marshmallow you will give them two, but if they eat it they will not get any more. This would be the same test put in front of man by a god that the books of Moses points to as a god that likes to test his creations.
I would like to point out also that the devil was not a part of this story, and was a later creation. The author of this book did not even believe in Satan, but that both good and bad were dispensed by one god.
Once, god finds out that man has eaten from the fruit, and discovered the knowledge of right and wrong, it is said, “look he has become like one of us”. I think that the knowledge of right and wrong, or free will, is what is being referred to, this god created us and gave us no ability to think on our own. After this took place he put guards around the tree of life, therefore stopping Adam & Eve from attaining everlasting life. In other words he changed the rules.
