Littletoe,
Anything Jesus does it done with God's power, so it does not originate in himself, while it does originate in God, and hence Isaiah 44:24.

MJ,
In John 5:30 Jesus said: "I do nothing by himself." So the God of Isaiah who does it by himself can't be Jesus. The fact is that God made use of his own creation to further create. It all was attributed back to God, for he used what he himself made. In context, the point is that there were no other gods like himself who did this. It does not rule out the use of his own creation (gravity, gasses, etc) in creating these things, and so it does not rule out the use of Jesus either.

Revelation 1.17 Jesus divinity? Or just "the first" raised from the dead"?
by Hellrider ini have been having an argument in this thread, which originally was about the trinity (oh no, not again.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/121719/1.ashx.
...with mondo1, about what the text in revelation 1.17 means.
i don`t want this thread to turn into another trinity-thread, let`s just keep it to the phrase "the first and the last", and revelation, and jesus` status in this text.

For spirit, as in substance? 0%.

Littletoe,
Form is morfh, which refers to what appears outwardly. It has been interpreted different ways.
I don't know where you get the idea that he emptied himself of his reputation. His reputation is not in view. Contextually, he emptied himself of "the form of God," which is the only thing available within the context of Paul's argument for him to empty himself of. Many will import ideas of what he emptied himself of, but without basis in the context.

No substance came down. He "became flesh."

It isn't a "WT theory." Anyone with even a basic knowledge of Greek knows better than that.

The problem is that more than one use applies to Jesus. Irregardless, I have already explained what took place in what was the final post on page 10. Please consult that for your answer.

An omega looks like a w and if you're typing out a Greek word you use a w for omega, so I use w.
I think you're missing the point that I'm making. The final revelation of events was given in verse 5. Verse 6 presents the angel speaking those words, then John interjects his own comments in verse 6 and tells what he did, then the angel responds to his action. The basic point that I am making still remains in that John shows that it is not longer the angel speak, and also then, there is no longer a revelation of events taking place (per your argument), by the use of I-proper name.
For verses 14-15, it reveals who will be allowed to enter and who will not be. That is a revelation in itself. The fact that it is stated earlier does not change this point, for it is common for things to be repeated within this book.

Your sarcasm is rather unbecoming. I ask for terms to be defined because Biblically, these terms can mean different things. Open any lexicon and look up the word pneuma (spirit) and you'll see a range of meanings.
