the first time i went to australia bethel during a holiday, we pioneer boys put on our best "going out" clothes, no ties just very smart, well groomed and neat.

the sister we stayed with said: "oh no you can't wear those clothes, you have to dress in meeting clothes!

" so we did, realizing we had shamed ourselves and our god.

The picture of on the brochure looks like the Bethel at the HQ, Roodekrans, South Africa. I helped lay those darn bricks....

I went on a tour, wearing my faded jeans, sneakers, and a t-shirt. The tour operater probably thought I was 'wordly' and never said a thing to me. These rules and the Kindom Ministry articles before the assemblies was a bit strange, but...those are the rules inside the system. Abide by them or be punished....you have been warned

A suggestion to slow down the JW's door-to-door activities

I wouldn't put my name and address in a local paper. There is enough spam and junk mail coming in already. They don't come around here very often, the local congregation seems unmotivated. I have seen them 3 times in the few years I lived here. They drag their feet and taking a slow stroll through the neighbourhood.

I heard a knock one Sunday morning, (me still in bed). I get up to check and see the two bro's at my door. Not in any mood to open the door wearing my boxer shorts I go off to get some more presentable attire. Halfway through getting dressed I think, 'stuff that, I am going to ignore them' They did not knock again anyway. Assuming that they must have left already, ( I mean, I WAS sleeping! Who knows how long they were knocking there?) I decide to make some coffee.

Lo and behold! Bro Dingle and Bro Berry are still standing at my door discussing something. I watched for maybe another 3 or 4 minutes how they do nothing but stand talking and pointing out the flowers in the garden. At a slow, death march pace, they walk along the path, and trundle up the road to my neighbour.

The breackneck speed the 'good news' is preached is stunning! So I will just let them get their time, and go home.

i havn't posted in quite a while.. i thought we could move on.. .but my 8 year old is the most incredbly hurt brokenhearted girl by having her life-long friend ripped away by us leaving the organization.

i tried to leave quietly, we're not dfed or anything... but her mother, my former best friend will not let the girls talk.. write.. contact ... period.

my daughter is still crying all the time.

Family is shunning us.

mrs smith and i have faded away for many years.

we knew the day will come that we would be questioned directly what our stand is.. this past holidays we were confronted by our jw family.

we told them the truth, we are not jw's anymore and that we go to any church that strikes our fancy.

This happened about 3 weeks ago, with some time to reflect....

I feel much better now since I don't have to measure my words anymore. You tend to tip toe around subjects and that is not fun and sometimes a lot of work.

If any communicating gets done in the future, I can 'say it like it is!'
