In bed with a WT clone
by Axeman ini married a jw convert.
looking back it was if she related to me and the kids like we were a duty like she was reading a scrip on how to relate to us.
like her love ( if you can call it that ) depended on how well we performed as witnesses.

I married a JW convert. Looking back it was if she related to me and the kids like we were a duty Like she was reading a scrip on how to relate to us. Like her love ( if you can call it that ) depended on how well we performed as witnesses. And she was hard on herself too Never felt good enough When she joined the Witnesses she said that "the brothers were all so good she could have married any one of them".Like I was just one from the heard of available bulls. The traditional marriage vows talk of forsaking all others Not my experience the elders the GB were in bed with us Does not lend itself to one flesh intimacy. Can anyone else relate to what I am saying?

Sincere Question to Anyone who Believes in God
by Big Tex inlately it's occurred to me that one day i will die.
being raised in a cult that teaches you, you will live forever without dying will warp perspectives.
and i've been working hard on coming to terms with that realization, and it's becoming more and more okay.

But my question is this: why should I believe God cares, and I mean really cares about me? Why should I believe he knows or cares anything at all about my pointless and deadend life?
Quote from Philip Yancey's book The Jesus I never knew {The apostle Paul called Jesus The image of the invisible God. Jesus was God's exact replica " For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him " God is, in a word ,Christlike Jesus presents a God with skin on whom we can take or leave love or ignore In this visible scaled down model we can discern God's features more clearly. I must admit that Jesus has revised in flesh many of my harsh and unpalatable notions aboutGod, Why am I a christian I sometimes ask myself and to be perfectly honest the reasons reduce to two (1) the lack of good alternatives and (2) Jesus Brilliant untamed tender creative slippery irreducible paradoxically humble- Jesus stands up to scrutiny. He is who I want my God to be'}
Does God care? Did Jesus care? Read the Gospel accounts and imagine you are there.

the lenths jws go to to avoid you
by winnie inwent to the chemist the other day parked near my brother in laws car in car park.he saw me and turned away.my wife went into chemist had to wait 10 minutes all the time my elder brother in law sat in car.we moved closer to supermarket as soon as we had moved i watch him go into chemist he was waiting for us to leave so he could go in.. i then went into supermarket i watched him do a whole lap of the car park walking so he wouldn,t have to walk past my car with wife and kids in.
he thought the coast was clear didn,t know i was in there so i ambushed him in an isle smiled said hello he smiled said hello then the jw shunning part of his brain kicked in head down walk straight and frown.. saw my mother in car latter and she covered her face .
i think they feel uncomportable.

It's like they see you as a representative of the devil, and flee for their lives.
Too true I started a conversation with an elder at a shopping mall He was talking away thinking to himself "where do I know this guy from" When he realized who I was he mumbled something about satan and took off

I did not feel repentant because I did not believe I had done the wrong thing and still don't. I was supposed to stop my 14 year old daughter who was pregnant due to rape from having an abortion. As one Elder on the committe said He would of made her have the child and then adopted it out. No doubt also if the baby when born & needed a life saving blood transfusion he would have been quite happy to kill it off that way. So much for their sanctity of life argument. Am I evil for putting the welfare of my daughter first? God knew my heart those men didn't nor did they care. I believed at the time that God worked through these men that trusting them was to trust God. I continued to attend meetings for the next 8 months at the end of which I still did not agree with their judgement. So I could hardly show any repentance. It's not about having a moral conscience its about power I had to agree with them and repent for doing what they believed was wrong. No way I hate the concept that might is right

"Woe, to you blinds guides..."

He actually went so far as to intimate that those whose hope is "earthly" are, in fact, in a much better position than those whose hope is "heavenly" and used these verses to give an example of what those whose hope is "earthly" would be doing (i.e, something, as opposed, I guess, to nothing, which is what he intimated those with a "heavenly" hope would be doing).
Re heaven It is not a question of what you will be doing (ie: what's in it for me mentality of the witnesses) but rather whom you are with A God who loves Its about relationship it matters little what the surroundings are though you can be sure knowing God what we experience in heaven will far surpass anything we can imagine or have experienced here on earth.

What do so called wprldly people think of Witnesses
by Axeman inthe wt would have us believe that worldly people admire and respect witnesses for their fine conduct.
not my experience when i left and sought candid expressions of what they really thought about the witnesses i found for the most part rather than admire them they think they are a little weird that there is something wrong with them.
those that do have a personal experience to relate tell of the negative effect the religion had on a family member that got involved with them.

Yet there was no hatred when relating theses stories more one of confusion ( how could this happen) and hurt. What did you learn of public opinion re the witnesses?
