If you were a fear mongering charlatan, who operated a publishing house, how would you go about drawing up the publics attention ?
While your under handling selling your goods you could also conjure up a whole lot of power for yourself by proclaiming
god is with your organization and no one else, putting the power of god into your own hands.
it seems to me it's only a matter of time before google+ takes over from facebook as the most popular social network.. a few jws i know have invited me to their google+ circles, or whatever you call it, in the last few weeks.
maybe they are more relaxed about using this network because it has not been condemned at the meetings the same way facebook has.. it occurs to me that the watchtower might be less likely to actually name google+ as forbidden fruit purely because they are confused about the name (i'm a bit confused about the name) and it they start condemning google they might sound like they mean to stop people using the search engine and just sound a bit daft.. so is this a social network that jws can take part in with impunity?.
Same way, the WTS. always wants to curtail who their devoted followers are associating with, who they're talking to and so forth.
If Google+ turns into Facebook, they will put out the warnings in the same way.

Highly unlikely its for just certain congregations only. They will revolve this event to all congregations eventually.
Could be a special day assembly where they announce a new spring pioneering campaign by one the many styles of encouragement talks.
The way these special events are announced at the Halls, creates a hyped upped atmosphere they they are
going to be getting some very special announcements from their spiritual mother in Brooklyn.
In reality, its just hyped up talk for can and will you do more for Jehovah by distributing the WTS. literature door to door this spring.
There were as to be expected a long list of what the gods of the many varied different gods that were worshiped in ancient times
were said have done or were going to do for the select ones that worshiped these gods. A great basket of mystical stories were told to create a sense
of connecting relevance toward these worshiped gods, equally as well to create relevant importance to those individuals whom were known to be
mortal seers toward these gods of these civilizations.
Being that these tribal civilizations had inter mingled on occasion for numerous reasons, it would be only logical to assume that there were
spiritual beliefs drawn from one and another (plagiarized) as a means to elevate their god to equal or higher power.
Human sociological behavior was apparent in ancient times just as it exists today.
One can see this even in more practical terms by driving down any main street in a city and see the competition between the deity seers
in are modern era.

we had kh cleaning last weekend for the memorial and it felt just like old time and brought back soo many memories...i share my struggles, my joys ...everything with my bros and sis... they are my friends...i really truly do love them...how can i leave?

Nice well meaning people can easily put in a state of controlling delusion of fear and ignorance,
just as easy as the not so nice.

i recall a jw telling me that.... "they" meaning scientists, had done study's on lions in zoo's and discovered that if they gave lions straw and grass to eat that the lions became very passive and no longer showed predator behavior??
now they never explained who "they" were, or were these "study's" had been done or why based on these study's lions are not now fed grass etc
has anyone else heard this for real?

I can't agree C.T. Russell was trying to fleece the brethren, or was a incompetent Bible teacher.
Really, most people thought even in his own time he was quit incompetent, William Conley the once president of the WTS. and
greatest financial supporter, left because he thought Russell derived most of theological expressions through other people's cultivated
theology, Pyramidology for example. Russell being the consummate salesman, found something else to fleece the publics attention and money
as well to create public notoriety for himself, that being a propagating salesman for religious beliefs. A kind of public notoriety that just being a
simple clothing salesman could never possibly offer.
Russel never was a well trained or schooled bible theologian by any stretch of the imagination.
His personal endeavor was enough in some people's eyes, to build up a public image of a modern day prophet,
a spiritually chosen spokesmen for God.
Was he really ? naah...., what he was, was a opportunistic charlatan, creating and pursuing his own public image of himself.
God is great, therefore aren't all men who chose to promote God therefore also great.
