Regarding the pedophile issue, if the person has been convicted he or she will be the Registered Offenders List. If the person is on the list your friend might want to accidentally leave a print out in a place were it can be found. Additionally, she could send a copy by registered mail to the WTBTS and the CO. That might get things moving. If she is afraid to do so maybe you could do that for her. Innocents must be protected.

Reasons why someone might get reproved
by XOCO ini'm new here and i have this friend that have recently moved here and not even a month that he has been here at the kingdom hall that i attend one of the elders made the announcement that brother xxxxx has been reproved.. i was just comming up with the reasons why he might of gotten reproved any stories, suggestions or experience would be greatly appreciated?

Dont get baptized unless you are 100 percent certain it is the "truth". Once you are baptized you are exposed to the harshness or the Organization. You will be forced to have only JW associates, only believe JW teachings, suspend any intellectual curiosity and basically have the organization attempt to run your life. Then when all you have is the organization it will become "hell" trying to ever leave or even think outside the box.

Good Advice.
The organization is not set up to handle sincere questions and doubts. Once you get to the point where the bible proves a WTBTS teaching is in error you get one of two responses from a JW.
1- Jehovah will clear this up in time, or
2- It is not that important to me, I serve Jehovah because ……..With regard to trusting JWs with your doubts, it is almost always leads to some sort of a bad result. JWs are afraid of the organization, afraid to face their own fears about the false teaching, afraid of the punitive nature of the organization. This fear causes what once were rational people to act irrationally. In the absence of fear one probably could be trusted, but such fear is so pervasive that there are few left to trust in the organization.

careers and job positions JWs are not allowed to have
by tula inhow many of you were required to give up a certain career you had in order to become a jw or before you could be baptised?.
help here in naming all the job positions and careers that dubs are not allowed to have and the scriptural reason for it.
detail if possible.. can a jw be a mortician?.

Nice post. But the reason that a JW cannot be a police officer is that it puts a life dedicated to god in a potentially dangerous position. The gun issue is a second reason, but subordiante to the first.

Sorry WTS - Higher Ed More Important Than Ever!
by Seeker4 ini'm working on an article tonight from an interview i did last week with jane sanders, the president of burlington college and the wife of us senator bernie sanders.
i was thinking of the wts's comments this summer at the dc where they really bad mouthed the value of a college education.. this is what jane sanders said:.
"the cost of education is very high, and we are one of the only industrialized nations in the world that doesnt give some kind of strong support to higher education, that considers that that is a necessity.

Most of the Bethelites in positions of oversight in legal, accounting, finance, engineering and of course the medical professions have degrees. The Society has encouraged educated ones to join Brooklyn Bethel. When I worked at Bethel it was amazing to see many who in spite of counsel from the organization pursued higher education and were accepted to Bethel positions. It has to be most awkward for the Society to reward higher education by accepting those who have it while at the same time discouraging education.
I am happy to say that my family from top to bottom (3 generations) has advanced degrees from fine schools. We would not let the fear of knowledge discourage us from our goal. Why are these guys so afraid of knowledge. If they had the truth wouldn't knowledge help their cause?

Jesus preached to the lost. His ministry focused on crowds that he felt pity for. He witnessed to tax collectors, prostitutes, Samaritans and the crowds. His message was primarily a message to those unconverted to Christianity. He was a true witness.
The Governing Body who proclaims itself to be one the Christ’s Brothers does what:
Samuel Herd rarely goes in field service. He has diabetes and retires very early and watches TV. He does not minister to the crowds but rather preaches to the choir. When he visited our Congregation not only did he avoid field service but he avoided the Brotherhood. One of Christ’s brothers – I doubt it.
Alfred Schroeder rather than mixing with the masses cloistered himself from the Brothers by eating lunch and dinner with a small group at District Conventions. It is so presumptuous that everyday Witnesses could not approach and visit with him. Is this what one of Jesus bothers would do?
Anthony Morris, maybe one of the most accessible of the GB has a wife who hates crowds, so poor Tony instead of acting as one of Christ’s Brothers hides away in the rich family accommodation to which he was assigned not talking with those who need to hear the message, but not even associating with his brother.
The smart guy, Jackson, has guards (Bethelites controlling access to him) all around. When approached by the brotherhood he gives sound bite answers to serious questions while looking at his “guard” to stop the questioning.
Our “brother” Loesch (sorry about the spelling) tells people who are going to college that they are playing Russian roulette possibly shooting a bullet into their head. If the gun doesn’t fire then that lucky one may stay alive. What is this idiot afraid of? If JWs have the truth one would encourage everyone to become educated as the truth as always becomes self evident.
I could go on and one, but bottom line if these are Christ’s Brothers they are from a different mother.
