  DON'T BUY EPSON PRINTERS!

  i have the epson stylus photo rx620 and it is probably the worst piece of crap printer i have ever owned!

  the problem is with the print heads.

  they get clogged but cannot be removed!

  I agree, and being a photographer, I've tried out many. The Canon Pixmas are the way to go for most consumers.

  i know everyone here thinks it's probably a waste of time for me to keep going to meetings cause i'm disfellowshipped.

  but i go for my own reasons, i explained these a while back when i first posted on here.

  he's a jw, but we are like brothers so he contacts me sometimes and it makes me feel a little better.

  Aw Jamie, I'm so sorry that your heart hurts so bad. I totally understand why! You need to talk to a therapist. You've got so much inside that needs to come out in a SAFE environment. You can talk to us, but we aren't professionals plus we don't know everything about you and your style of handling things.

  I was able to LIVE because I started therapy. I would probably be locked away right now after the year I've been through. Therapy literally saved my sanity. Being a JW compounded by being a victim of childhood abuse is not something to carry around on your shoulders.

  Please get help, and keep talking to us here, we'll listen and support you.

  Met anyone Famous? What were they Like?

  have you ever met and had chance to talk to someone "famous"?

  maybe an actor, politician, musician?

  Don't want to give too much away because I'm attempting to stay somewhat anonymous, but I've recently worked with one of the biggest sports celebrities in the country this past year. And one of my clients from last year was part of one of the wealthiest families in the country.

  The sports guy was oblivious to his family and a little "punch drunk." The attorney was wonderfully kind and an amazingly thoughtful person. Very attached to his blackberry, but otherwise very interested in helping others.

  Knocking documentary email

  so it appears that many local pbs affiliates are refusing to air knocking according to an email i got this morning from the producers.

  he beseeched jws to call their local station and ask for it to be aired because "other programming directors might get a skewed impression that the community does not want to see knocking, based on only receiving negative calls and letters about jehovahs witnesses.

  they may have never heard from actual jehovahs witnesses.

  So it appears that many local PBS affiliates are refusing to air Knocking according to an email I got this morning from the producers. He beseeched JWs to call their local station and ask for it to be aired because "Other programming directors might get a skewed impression that the community does not want to see KNOCKING, based on only receiving negative calls and letters about Jehovah’s Witnesses. They may have never heard from actual Jehovah’s Witnesses." I was thinking about this and why it struck a nerve with me. The rest of the page is a virtual blueprint of how to get PBS stations to listen to requests to air it. It felt, I don't know, like he is using JWs to pursue his fame. It just doesn't sit well with me. Besides, I felt it was highly unlikely that a group of people in the public decided to call PBS stations and request it not be aired. On the contrary, it was probably JWs who have been hurt by the terrible policies of their organization that have called and requested that both sides of the story be told.

  Puck, you have got to send what odrade wrote back to your parents. That is beautiful odrade and points out how dysfunctional the Watchtower's approach truly is. Thanks for sharing that!

  I wish that were true, but it hasn't been in our situation. I would gladly share if it meant my family speaking with me. Oh well...

  My Wife Just Left Me Because of the Evil Watchtower

  this is very difficult to write because i am crying.

  i am normally not the kind of person you will ever see cry because things don't affect me that much but this has got to be the hardest things i have ever went through.. i just got through discussing with my wife my feelings.

  i guess it has been hard to hid some of the things that i have felt since i have learned that many of the wt teachings are false.

  First time for me.........."The wedding night"

  i had no idea what to expect!...................as in the case of most jws.

  since sex is strickly forbidden before marriage.

  at the time (1970's) kissing was even frowned at too.

  Well as a mom of two young girls I hope that they will wait to have sex until they are in a committed relationship but NOT wait until they are married. First of all, setting that restriction in your mind can hasten marriage before the person has had a chance to grow up. Look at how many 18/19 yr olds are getting married in the organization, it is insane! Second, sexual compatibility, while slightly over-rated, is nonetheless, important to the health of a marriage. Also, there is something to be said about "sowing your wild oats" before you get tied down in a marriage. Going to college and experimenting is part of growing up for most 20 yr olds. I know I'm not the only one who feels cheated that I didn't get to experience that. I know that others will disagree, but I think, no matter how unpleasant it may be, it is a rite of passage as fundamental as going to high school.

  History channel Show Paradise lost

  i saw similarities between the peoples temple and life as a witness.

  one was when the siren would go off and the announcement would be for everyone to gather at the pavillion.

  that was kind of like when we are suppose to have a special announcement.

  I actually watched this and it haunted me until the middle of the night. I seriously could not get to sleep from tossing and turning over what is to come w/the borg.

  This morning I had a conversation w/my jw husband about the show and it so strange because he can sit and bemoan how terrible it was yet he won't allow himself to put two and two together. I was VERY tempted to make a comparison, but my husband is smart and he doesn't need me to point out the obvious. Anyhow, what struck me especially hard was how Jim Jones painted the media and governments as evil and how they were automatically against them. Isn't that what the society does too?

  Really, the most haunting part of the show was how they forced the babies and children to drink the kool-aid. I nearly vomited during that scene. It was just too painful to imagine a parents doing that to their child. I can't. even. imagine.
