Why is it everytime I turn around I am supposed to be paranoid?
by Schism ini know i know, i have too many worries...this is another one of them.. first, i was raised a jw and was told that we were about to go through the great tribulation, a time when men with guns would come to the house and force us out and cut off my 5 year old fingers for not saying the pledge of alleigance to the flag?
and then to be beaten to death with hammers for being a jw?
i grow up, and off and on for every little thing that happens, my jw family reminds me that any day now i could be tortured and killed.

Oh and what's worse? Being a JW who doesn't go to college because they believe the end will come? Or being a non-JW who doesn't go to college because they believe a holocaust is coming? Either way it seems too unhealthy and it discourages one from pursuing the good things in life because you are just positive that it is hopeless. I want to be hopeful about my future Geez can I get a break?

I know I know, I have too many worries...this is another one of them.
Every time I start to relax, the weather gets cloudy and everyone wonders if it is Armageddon time or something.
Now I don't believe in what the JWs preach, and I was feeling really REALLY good about life. I have been becoming more and more optimistic about my future. Wanting to get a job, go to college, take a vacation, move to a beautiful place, etc...
Finally, after becoming comfortable in the country I live in, I am faced with people telling me that there will be a mass extermination of innocent people and I could be one of them??? Why do I have to even hear this kind of stuff? Is it too much to ask to just not have to worry about some for of tribulation or another? First it's JWs, now it conspiracies? I just want to not have to have these imaginations of being held at gunpoint and tortured to death just for having been born.
I mean, if what they are saying is true, then obviously the JW prediction that religious people will go to these camps. I don't want to believe this stuff. It makes JWs seem more credible, and that's never a good thing...because they are nuts.
I just want to grow old with my husband and enjoy life. I wish I didn't ever have to have these worries. Being raised a JW, I have this constant paranoia of being put in concentration camps. I can't even get through the movie "Schindler's List" because it feeds that fear! I watched half of it, and I had to get drunk just to tolerate it.
I know there's nothing anyone can say to reassure me, but I just had to vent a little. Does anyone else have this sort of paranoia? I try not to read those kind of things when I am on the internet, but I stumble upon them anyway. I'd rather be blissfully ignorant. I shouldn't be so young to constantly worry about imminent death. It's insane.

lol Blondie! My mother would have killed me if she caught me doing any of your suggestions, even as a married adult! I did manage to take frequent bathroom breaks for this last assembly, although she figured out that my spouse and I were just trying to get away from hearing the talks and she made both of us go sit back down No fair...
I had to spend my time staring at people instead. Hey, add that to the list!

Does anyone know about real estate (mom? dad?)
by Schism inyeah, i won't ask my real life parents this, so i am turning to my jwd parents for help, lol.. i have just caught wind that a 2 week long class will be opening up on a nearby campus.
once the class is over, the students will then be able to take a state test and get a realtor's license.
the course costs $700.. ok, so i need to get a job, otherwise we are going to starve to death.

Thank you so much kate (((((hugs)))))
Very helpful post!
I will try not to let anything get to me like it used to. I used to be such a work-a-holic, independent girl. Then one thing happened after another and I became a socially anxious clam, to say the least, lol. I quit working and was so scared to get out there again, that I didn't care what the finances looked like. One day I tried to go to work for a very nice guy I've been knowing all my life. It was only part-time. I started crying on the way there and never did go in for my first day! I was so embarrassed for being such a drama queen, but I didn't have any control over myself that day, lol.
So here I am now, in desperate need of money to pay bills, and I don't know where to start. I don't wanna be a grown-up anymore!!!

OK, so I need to get a job, otherwise we are going to starve to death. I have finally decided to overcome my fear of social situations and get back out there (had a job before, long story). Working is a necessary thing, and I need to step up to the plate Scared to death, BTW
I do believe that this job would be something I am interested in. But how does it work? What exactly do realtors do besides show houses? I thought they had to go to school for way longer than that. I am being told that there is a possibility for a decent income. I suppose that depends on certain things though.
Know an agent? Been one? Any advice?

The Scent of a Woman!!!!
by AK - Jeff inyour intentions are good - entirely manly.
you step into the shower intent on grabbing a skin-drying manly soap - dial or zest or similar.. then it catches your eye - that little 'womanly scented' bath-bar.
you try and reach past it - to get the large man-size bar on the soap tray - but inexplicably you pick up the lady's perfumey soap.

LOL, funny thread!
I refuse to wear girlie lotion, perfume, deodorant, soap, shampoo, conditioner, shave gel or anything else that comes in colors, fruits, or flowers. To me, they all stink to high heaven and give me TERRIBLE headaches.
My man would love it if I would smell flowery and fruity, but it just won't happen. I have sensitive sinuses and sensitive skin. If it doesn't smell unisex, or even manly, I won't wear it. I either go with no perfume at all, or CK One-type stuff. I think the smell of good hygeine is the best scent around! LOL
I have female cousins who have this passion for collecting like, 24 half-used bottles of shampoo and soaps and stuff in their bath area, and it's kinda weird to me. I just go for the bar that closest resembles the color white, and pray it isn't tropical fruitalicious bubble gum roses ontop of strawberries and honey.
So, for anyone out there who doesn't believe that a girl can be pretty and ladylike, while still managing to use discretion in what smells emanate from their skin, females like me are a sign of hope, LMAO.
And we use Cetaphil anti-bacterial bath soap bars for bathing. It smells like soap, and it doesn't leave a clear residue on your skin. I used to use Zest because the smell agreed with me, but it made my skin feel tight and dry. Plus it tends to burn urethras if I may go there, haha. That's the hole the pee comes out of....

Oh god my 1st time I was only 15 and it was with my first real boyfriend. There was nothing scarey, awkward, or painful about it. It was fun and I was especially rearing to go!! Oh, and it was his first time as well, and he lasted for hours (probably because we had so much phone sex that he was numbed or something, LMAO). Oh boy, was I ever starving for a slice of man!! Let me stop!
Twas a fun time.... All that excitement in uncharted territory!
Nowadays I am married. Though it isn't new and weird like when I was 15, I'm still always up for a good time! LOL!!!!!
That blushing smiley is the closest I come to inhibition.
