For women: your view of strip clubs

i have heard two vastly differing viewpoints on this subject over the years.

regarding your significant other, would you care if they went to a strip club or not?

Strip clubs are fantasy-based businesses designed to separate people (typically men) from their potential real lives and earnings, just as the Watchtower Society does. One operates under the pretense of entertainment, the other salvation.

Both make big bucks off of superficial yearnings, surrounded by fake people and vampires.

Both operate on false hopes. Both attract and engender losers with a capital L.

That being said, I think they're great places for rejectable men and sorrowful women who have nothing to offer in this world. To each his own; even lowlifes need to make a living off each other and it's perfectly legal to do so.

You are entitled to your opinion,

But I sense that it stems from a personal hurt judging by such sweeping generalizations that you made, (that are not necessesarily true).

Many women work there to make money to support their family, to put them selves through school, and while it isnt the most ''proper'' of jobs, it's alot more money than what they would make doing secular work, or flipping burgers. There doesnt have to be touching involved. Many, many respectable people work and go to strip clubs, for a variety of reasons. The statement that those people have nothing to offer to this world is a stereotype and is blatantly mean and untrue. When you used the term lowlife, all I thought was ''ouch'', Sue was really hurt by someone who went to strip club(s), and if that is the case, then Im really sorry that you were hurt.

Frannie is neither a lowlife, and she does have ALOT to offer to this world, she isn't a loser, nor was she a loser when she was a dancer, she was working to support herself. I think she is an awesome person, Ive learned many valuable lessons from her on JWD..

I just think that it isnt fair to make generalized comments about one thing, or about certain people just because of their job, or just because of their lifestyle. It's like saying ''all men are pigs'', or ''all women over 40 are cougars''. Those are not true statements, but statements made from an uninformed, biased, prejudiced opinion.

My Life after Bethel part 3

we started attending the wakefield r.i. kh after the marriage.

at the first meeting i went to, "buddy" weber came up to greet me.

he had left a very good job in seattle (he had his own radio talk show) and was now a janitor, living were the need was greatest, at the time r.i had the worst publisher to normal people ratio in the counrty 1 to 1600. i'm just standing there listening to him as he is giving me the "what he has done for jehovah story" what his "spiritual credentials" are, how wonderful his kids are, were they were pioneering, how he had givien up a good job so he could serve the lord my cleaning windows in rhode island............because the end was coming soon in 1975, just a few months away blah blah.......blah.......it reminded me, so much how the jws love to martyr themselfs and how much they say "we are all equal".......but on the other hand, they love poistions, that deep down inside they believe that some are really better then others and that they are working there way into the "new system".

Sometimes there are people that come into our lives that help us tremendously, maybe they are angels? not that i believe in that romantic notion, but would be neat if it were true....

a few years back a bunch of brothers in the cong.

i was in would do all night field service.

they would drive all over the county, through 4 or 5 different cities hitting all the bus stops, all night laundromats, convenience stores, gas stations, etc.

Let Kids see Dub Grandparents or?

my mom and dad love my son, but i also know because of the depth of their brainwashing, they won't be respectful of my parenting (as i've asked them) and will try to "plant seeds" with him.

he's only 7, loves his grandma and papa very much and is easily confused and distressed when he gets conflicting info.

since we left the dubs, we've had a couple different run-ins with my parents trying subtle and not so subtle means to get at my son, or more accurately, get at me.

I'm going to be asking their grandmother (who does love my kids dearly) to take them on fri night and have them back by sat night. that way there is no meeting to take them to. (unless its assembly day - then they wont go).she may take them in service, but i think i can handle that...they are very young still.

sunday: meeting from 9am to 11am then book study from 11 to 12 noon that same day.. wednesday: meeting from 6h30pm to 8h15pm and field service up to 9pm driving back home.. thats it !!!.

i get the rest of the week for myself.

Sunday - drive by from 10am-12pm picket the hall with child abuse signs, etc.

Tuesday - one hour book study of CoC, and any other book of your choice.

Thursday 7:30pm-9pm - put ''informative'' flyers on all the cars windshields at the KH. then go for coffee

Saturday - have a BBQ apostafest

If your mate cheated on you, could you forgive?

Don't understand why some can forgive if it's just sex as long as they love you. Self says, "if you love me, then wtf. Is this how you show it to me?" Some might say it's just f***ing or that it was just a tangent and I don't understand that either. Perhaps I'm naive. Perhaps I've made bad choices. Both probably.- twitch
twitch - this made me wonder - well is it loving to expect someone only to ever have sex with you. Isn't it more loving to allow a measure of freedom. We only get one life and I know if I had to spend it having sex with the same person since I was 16 I'd have died of boredom by now. However I dont see why my desire for multiple partners shoudl exclude me from a loving relationship either. -crumpet

There are those who are meant to be in monogamous relationships, and there are others who need to have the variety of multiple partners, who would feel stiffled with being with only one person. In the animal kingdom, there are animals that have mutltiple mates, and/or have a different mate every mating season, and animals that have one mate for life. It's no different for the human species, I guess.
