  July 8th Awake! LOL

  has anyone else seen the july 8th awake!?.

  it's cover features a picture of a police man and a young boy and asks the question "police, why do we need them"?.

  does anyone else see the irony of this in light of the dateline publicity?

  Movies (mirimax-type flicks, sci-fi, some foreign, lots of jacky chan)...but mostly I have to watch them at home...VCDs....

  writing (but I've been on a dry spell lately...gotta fix that.)

  since I teach university students here in china, i like to corrupt by exposing them to america culture....movies, music, books.. etc.

  blaring my cd collection on my computer's speaker: pet shop boys, madonna, etc.

  well, play volleyball in the humid heat...
  uh, gosh, i guess I don't do that many "fun" things anymore....

  I measured mine - 9 inches !

  what were you expecting when you clicked that topic ?!?!.

  actually, i read an interesting bit of trivia somewhere that said mens nipples are always 9 inches apart.

  i measured mine and i'm spot on.. of course i'd be disappointed if all my vital stats were just 9 inches

  I did something really stupid.... :(

  hey,.

  ok, i need all the advice i can get...... last week i told my sister (she is jw, as is my entire family) that i did something stupid.

  i had just broken up with my boyfriend because he was cheating on me.... and in some kind of drunk-revenge-mood i slept with his best friend..... .

  I don't normally advocate what LB is suggesting, but in your case, I agree here, it's better to deny. Why? You were already lying to begin with. I know this doesn't sound good, but I figure this will better suit your long-term goals, i.e. your college education. If you get Df'ed, your parents will withhold any financial help from you. And like Puff says, you live the life that many JW kids would kill for.

  But you can convince the elders that your sister has the problem...dity mind, hearing problem, whatever, you not only keep your parents' cash coming in, but you also teach your sister a lesson in loyalty. Believe me, it's better she learn it this way rather than lose her sister to a bad case of verbal diarrhea

  Sometimes you must comprise your morals for the sake of the larger picture. Like I said, I don't normally advocate this behavior, but you have more to lose than your sister.

  My Theory about wild X-JWs

  i was pondering this theory this morning - what do you all think?.

  a few months ago i went to visit someone from my last congregation who is now also an x-jw.

  what is interesting is that, though completely straight-laced within the congregation, he became absolutely out of control once he left and is now trying to figure out how to get his life together.

  I agree ZP, but I guess I always a little chickens*&^ to go out and live my desires. and whenever I did, it was b/c I did it without thinking about it beforehand...i.e., spur of the moment.

  Well, both my sister and I grew up in the seventies and Eighties...but my little sister always remarks that she thinks all the music for 1970s TV shows sounds like bad porno music....I don't ask where that comes from, I don't want to either. But does anyone else agree with her?
  As for me, I always liked the theme song for "Welcome Back, Mr. Kotter"...but I was little kid, so I was easily impressed. I thought it sure beat the uptempo crowd-pleasing "We are Jehovah's Witnesses" song from the the dubs' songbook.

  i have been meeting-free for a year now, (although i did attend the last memorial mainly out of curiosity).

  i have learned enough now, since leaving "the truth" to know that i'm never going back.

  but i was wondering how long it takes to get all of the shit out of your head?

  Been out since 1990. But I guess it's one of those things takes its own to sweet time to get out of my system...much of it in stages. I pretty much got into the holiday spirit when it comes to Christmas and B-days, but other things took time.
  relax, it just keeps getting better the more you take control of your life....which also depends on what you do with your life. I know I've made plenty of mistakes I wished I hadn't and plus I was naive in many ways and that led me into the slaughterhouse if you get my drift.
