When you've been working all day and the kids have been in school all day and then you come home just in time to put on your kingdom hall clothes and get the kids dressed there is no time to worry about a meal. That comes after the Kingdom Hall. So you grab a handful of candy from that stash that you keep on hand to take to the Kingdom Hall so that you will not die of hunger before the meeting is over. (I used to open the candy before I sat down so that no one would hear the paper rattle!)

How many trees is that then?
by dmouse inwhile most of the world not only express concern about the damage we are doing to the environment but also actively try to conserve our dwindling resources, especially natural ones, the society boasts of how much of our precious resources it squanders:.
17. jehovahs blessing is also seen in that jehovahs witnesses publish the most widely distributed bible-based publications in all history.
at the present time, 90 million copies of the watchtower and awake!

Its easy to make that boast when you have branch offices all over the world where young men and women are duped into working for free printing and distributing these magazines.

Thanks for sharing that. Well it seems that the JW practice of shunning will be closely observed and analyzed as more and more stations pick up this tragic story.

Eating meat in Paradise?
by meat pie inyou know there's always the belief that 'we won't eat meat in paradise because that's not what god originally intended?
' normally pictures of food in the mags are huge bowls or baskets of fruit and veg, well i noticed watchtower march 1 2002 page 15 has a photo of what appears to be a nice meaty curry or similar.
then i noticed awake february 22 2002, pages 8 and 9 'under god's kingdom, people will enjoy work that is both safe and rewarding'.

Maybe the Beef Association threatened to sue if the WBTS did not include an ample supply of meat in their paradise.

Online Bibles
by JosephAlward ini believe there are many on this forum who are not aware of the many online bibles from which they could almost effortless copy verses to paste into their arguments.
when one refers to a particular verse in a particular book, few readers have the patience to go seach through the whole book.. the online source i use is called "bible gateway.
" it provides several different versions of the bible, and offers word search, which is an indispensible tool for those who take their bible research seriously.. bible gateway is at http://bible.gospelcom.net/.

Another Example of Watchtower Lies EXPOSED
by Reborn2002 ini thought some of you may find this interesting.
it is so humorous to look into the watchtower bible and tract society's own literature and so blatantly see they change their mind and lie so frequently.. these are direct quotes from their own literature.
if you doubt my posting this, please check for yourself.. now to establish a precedence that the watchtower bible and tract society, the corporate religous entity which provides literature and oversees jehovah's witnesses worldwide, believes it is an inspired prophet, let us look at .

Well actually the teaching that the WT is inspired wisdom directly from God is old light. New light came sometime in the '80's when it was explained to us that the WT was not inspired. Then came the emphasis on the organizaation and that as god's faithful and discreet slave they supplied our spiritual food. However, as we all know we are taught that JW's will be the only ones to survive Armageddon. I think that for PR purposes they clean it up a bit and give the answer that you found on their website. (I think this is correct. Changes are always taking place so it is hard to keep up.)

Who remembers Cake Nights?
by 2SYN in<fluff> .
at the book studies?
they were the highlight of the month.. thing is, all the sisters would try to outdo each other making nice food, which amused me no end, and also kept my stomach filled up, but drove me nuts, because my mother would spend the entire afternoon making a giant racket in the kitchen and screaming @ my sister whilst doing it, just to bake a cool cake for the book study.. also, remember those last ~15 minutes before the end of cake night book studies?

I used to serve cookies after the Book Study. One night after the study the conducter pulled us aside and said that we should stop serving the cookies because he suspected that some of the friends were only coming for the cookies. Duh! So after that no more refreshments.
