i need some help identifying a berry bush that is in my backyard.

i have tasted the berries and they are on the sour side, they also have a pit on the inside of them (or at least the one i tried did........gonna wait awhile before i try another).

whatever they are they have come ripe w/in the past week.

I agree with you. We were always told that if we ate those berries we would die.

Were my parents wrong. Are they edible?

I work in the Empire State Building in New York City.

Attendance at work is optional on the 11th of September because so many of us are just plain afraid to commute on that day. Rumors are rampant. Some say that the subways are targeted, some say our building or the Chrysler Building is next.

I'm not taking chances. I'm staying home.

Hi Teejay,

Good marriages are a crap shoot. I agree with that. You start off deeply (hopefully) in love but you can never be sure of the outcome. You have to go in determined to make it succeeed. I know I did.

I am an American. My husband waqs German. Do you when we first met he spoke only a little english and I had to learn to speak German. But little by little we found that we though we were culturally different, we really had a lot in common. Then when the children came it actually strengthened the marriage. We loved those kids.

There were ups and downs, but finally, ultimately, we loved each other deeply.

I don't expect to find that again.

Mortality

at one time, nearly all of us held the thought that we would live forever.

the thought of our being mortal and actually dying just wasnt there.

deep inside, we all know we are going to die one day, but has the realization of the truth of that ever just hit you, right out of the blue?

First of all I'm so glad that you got a clean bill of health. You know the old adage, if you have your health you have everything. I suppose only when we fall ill do we realize how true that really is.

Since we now realize that everlasting life on a paradise earth is just a watchtower fairy tale, the best we can do is to live this life to the fullest and take the best care of ourselves that we know how.

I married when I was just 17 years old. Everyone objected to it. Parents, elders, you name it. They all said I was too young. He was 24 years old. But we went ahead and married anyway. It was one of the smartest decisions I ever made in my life. My married lasted 19 years and was terminated only by his death.

I think of him every day. I miss him every day. I believe in the institution of marriage but as for me, I don't think I'll ever marry again.

"now this must have been quite the war, since we are taught that by october 1 or 2 1914, satan was waging war with michael and he was thrown to the vicinity of the earth.

that is why since 1914 we have such a short time left.....how do they get these crazy dates and how can people believe this if they really think about it?

today has been as rough day for me.

i got up this morning hoping our van would pass the ontario emission tests for clean driving.

we put 400.00 dollars to make sure it would pass and it didn't pass it failed and to beat that we are at our daughters home a couple of hours away from our home.

Hang in there, tomorrow has to be better!
