it was always the invisible demonic forces they were up against.
when things didn't go right, or you fell down on your luck...it was satan playing havock in your life, trying to mess you up because you were serving god.

Stupid Memorial
by PanzerZauberei inwell, i am gonna have to go again because my wife wants to go this year.
she missed last year because she was sick and was so depressed about it for a month after because of the guilt her stupid family laid upon my poor darling.
last night she was visiting her dad (the only one who didn't guilt her) and he asked if she was going to go this year.

Building new friendships
by troubled mind inon the thread about 'moving on after leaving the witnesses', it brought to mind how hard it is to build new friendships .. for me i have been out for a little over three years .
i knew before i quit that it would be important to fill the void that would be left when old "friends" began dropping us .
lucky for me i worked with some very fun out going people at my job .

my mrs is as busy as ever with her JW social life....i.e....tomorrow....her and the kids are going to an engagement party JW style.......I am not invited.........I am completely in limbo.....if I move on the gaps get wider....and I worry my kids suffer.....I don't want to go two opposite directions......I am trying desperately to hold it together............for flucks sake...where's the beer?..............

they are fairly popular (at least on the internet) conspiracy theorists.

We Don't Want to Know Why You're Leaving
by passwordprotected inour exit from the watch tower society was fairly speedy.
within about 3 months, we'd ceased attending meetings and lost all of our friends (apart from hobo ken and his wife).. what was shocking - and only confirmed that we were right to leave - was how our decision was met by our so-called friends.. we were leaving behind people whom we'd enjoyed friendship for over 20 years.
we were leaving behind friends who were closer to us than our own families were.
