i left jws 10 yrs ago and have just considered myself drifted.

could never go back as i personally found it too hard to live up to.
i feel the same way...i had left the jw's a long time ago in my mind but always thought they were probably right and i would die. i found these sites 3 days ago and can't stop reading. i'm even putting off my work to read these things. i feel so emotional about it even though it's no longer my life.
i think it's because you no longer have the thought in the back of your head nagging you whenever you start to feel happy without their rules. you are completely free. it's breathtaking
john 14:12 "most assuredly, i say to you, he who believes in me,the works that i do he will do also;and greater works than these he will do, because i go to my father.13"and whatever you ask in my name, that i will do, that the father may be glorified in the son 14:if you ask anything in my name, i will do it" .
i understand that we ask for our prayers to be answered through jesus name as jesus is the amen.many will give a different answer to this question from the trinitarian/non trinitarian viewpoint.jesus says here that he will answer your prayers if you ask in his name.
does this mean it is ok to request from jesus during the prayer.

it would be like god not taking a look at a document he was mailed just because someone forgot to check a certain box .
im a long time witness but the last district convention with all of it's "don't think for yourself" propoganda led me to this board.

my wife has at times been dissilussioned with the org, but, ironically, i'm usually the one to comfort her and tell her to wait on jehovah.

living my life away from home as a fader and getting unwanted calls from my folks.
if she must know you lied all those times, she should know you did it out of love for her. you are doing the right thing.

but how i see it is it doesn't matter as long as your heart is in the right place.
i thought it is ironic that the jehovah's witnesses force their members to go door to door throughout the neighborhoods.
and then once a year american's have a tradition where our kids go door to door throughout the neighborhoods on halloween.
but the jw's kids can't go!

there's was a guy who bought an expensive car. he loved it so much he shined and polished it everyday...blah blah blah. then one morning he went out and found out that someone had crashed right into it and just left...and he screamed:
