I bet they might catch Bill in the ovary office too trying to ruin some more dresses.

Oprah for President in '08. Why? Why not?
by AuldSoul ini have seen the idea floated a few times in some interesting places, but also on threads here.. i think she would get the vote out in a way it has never been gotten out before.
it would also throw all the pollster's margins of error way out of whack (which might be worth it, all by itself).. why do you think she should be or could be elected president?.
why do you think she shouldn't be or couldn't be elected president?.

Buddhism, Taoism, Meditation, and any other Non-Christian Journeys...
by exjdub inthere have been a lot of christian threads lately, so i thought that i would open a topic for other journeys.
because there is no way i will ever be a christian again because the curtain has been opened and i can see behind it, however i have an open mind and have started some meditation practices.
i have been thinking about visiting a buddhist temple out of curiosity.

Not sure if you are referring to me or Daystar, but swapping life for death is an easy choice. Christianity believes in invisible spirits and ghosts and goblins and such. Demons instead of recognizing mental sicknesses for what they are. "Satan" instead of realizing that is just the bible's view of the human heart. But resurrection? Coming back from the dead to life? That is something natural sounding to me. I see no reason why we cannot live forever in the human form. WE are really designed to live and collect information forever. Scientists have yet to figure out why we grow old and decay and die. Unless God has put this governor on us. At any rate, Shalom and may YHWH bless you with love and peace and flowers.

A funny prayer...out of the mouths of babes....
by megsmomma inthis story is cute in a way....but also disturbing since it does show how jw's brainwash their young.. when my daughter was 5 she was visiting me and at night i would listen to her pray (at that time i was still not free from the guilt, ect) well, she started out "dear jehovah....ooohhhhhhh jehovah......(sounded just like her dad) thank you so much for this food we're about to recieve..." no, we were not about to eat!
i had to see she was imitating what she had heard many times....and i laugh, but it makes me sad too.
at least i know that their truth really isn't in her heart....just her brainwashed mind, and for some reason....i think that is much better..

Oh yes the "spiritual food at the improper time" bit.. or whatever. God that brings back horrible memories. It also brings back a really funny one though. I forget which brother it was that had a son who came one time to the hall without his mother, and boy was this little kid a brat. Most of the dubs laughed at him, but of course you had the stern group of tallyho's that commendeered the boy before things got out of control, and ushered him and his Father to the back room (we all know what that room is really designed for)...

JW attitude toward death
by love2Bworldly ini was just remembering how when i lost my non-jw brother when i was a teenager, that my witness friends were not very supportive when he died.
he died in his sleep at age 22, and he was a very nice person.
i remember crying at school and my jw friends were like, oh brother it's already been a week!

That sounds really bad aarque. The more I keep hearing about these things, the more I think about how insensitive the witnesses really are. IT's amazing how they can be "politely rude".

Did you know anyone in the "truth" that was in an abusive relationship?
by The wanderer indid you know anyone in the "truth" that was in an abusive relationship?
this topic of discussion draws its inspiration from a prior thread.
about a woman's perspective regarding the watchtower society.. the organization maintained the ideal family life making your family life happy, happiness how to find it and.

Just seeing that kind of stuff makes me want to go ballistic. Anyone who would ever strike a woman deserves to have his balls ripped off and fed to an ostrich. Then, someone needs to take his penis and stuff it in a cobra's pit. Then, someone needs to stick dynamite up his ass and light the fuse, but not before performing all the actions that Wesley described in "The Princess Bride" to Prince Humperdink. Only a sick twisted person who is a complete evil bastard would hurt a woman. Sick world and it's men. God I hope we die.

Prayer Requests
by startingover ini frequent another forum for honda gold wing riders.
when i read there i get irritated by the posts asking for prayers.
either someone or his friend or family has crashed or is sick.

Startingover, I just want you to know that I love you, and you will be in my prayers. A prayer is not always something directed at God in case you don't know. Some of us pray to all kinds of things. Many lords and many gods... either way, thanks for not taking offense. But, I suck too if it makes you feel better. I am also a masochist.

It's probably all ballyhoo, but I chose Messianic Judaism for the sole fact that it is the only one with salavation, and eternal life as a human being, instead of some kind of spirit without eyeballs and a penis.

I think she would do very well for the community. The price of crack might go down.

IN other words, the Jews expected a man from the seed of David. They never expected spirit from Heaven. They expected the male seed of Abraham through the male lineage in the bible before the Greeks corrupted the NT. Daystar where did you get your education on these other matters? You just combined two ascetic origin terms in that last paragraph. I have never heard any other scholar do such. Are you collegiate? You sound so.
