Okay just reading this had made my blood pressure go up! I hear my parents (80 & 92) have been visited lately by elders. Dad has also recently moved some bank accounts and at first didn't even put my mother's name on them.
I suspect the WTS, if they have not already done so, realize the time is right to start pushing to get all of his property and $$$. It just makes me sick to my stomach to think about what they do to people.

MsMcDucket - I believe those quotes were from either Russell or Rutherford's writings in the early 1900s - long before Raymond's time.
I first saw the quotes on this website - www1.tip.nl/%7Et661020/wtcitaten/part1.htm - Spiritual Food at the Proper Time. It's a very long list about many subjects but worth the read.
Looks like they start in 1898 on the list. -

On this page - www.evidenceministries.blogspot.com/ - of the happyxwitness website Keith Walker has a link to a presentation he made to a Lutheran congregation on various JW topics. Click on the word 'link' in the Tuesday, March 20, 2007 section.
The presentation is about an hour long - very basic and simple. One thing he discussed was the trinity. Having never known anything but the JW version, I still have a hard time getting my mind around the trinity subject and for me his discussion was good. -

What jumps out at me is the publicity they are freely accepting for their 'gifts'.
Remember years ago - they said we're not supposed to put our name on gifts at a baby shower or wedding so that we don't bring attention to ourself - or something like that. -

Michael Jackson as a JW ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles indo you believe that the jw factor in michael jackson's life contributed in any way to him being a misfit of sorts?.
i'm wouldn't describe myself as a fan of his, but sometimes i just feel so sorry for the poor guy.. and now it's even worse!
he's responsible for children who're probably thinking that it's everyone else who's weird!

I always felt a little sorry for Michael. He was such a cute & talented kid.
Between his JW mother and his abusive non-JW father he hardly had a chance to grow up in any sense normal. -

No, it wasn't just 'some brothers' starting rumours. Don't forget - that rumor was backed up by the 1995 WT article:
*** w95 9/1 p. 17 par. 17 Christian Witnesses for Divine Sovereignty ***
17 Still, that first-century preaching work was merely a foretaste of what would be accomplished during the last days. Looking forward especially to our time, Jesus said: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10) Has this prophecy been fulfilled? Indeed, it has. -

Stratton vs.WTBTS revisited
by Junction-Guy inok, back in 2002 (i believe) the wt society took the village of stratton ohio to court, and won.
it seems that stratton had placed some kinds of restrictions on door to door soliciting, such as registering with the police before going door to door.. .
question is, was there any loopholes left by this supreme court decision?.

"What if a city passed an ordinance requiring convicted sex offenders to register with the police when they go door to door, for sales, canvassing, proselytizing."
Good idea, but the problem with that is that most of the pedofiles have never been reported to police, never convicted or even brought into court because of their being protected by the WTS. If there is no record in the legal system they would not have to register - right? -

Why can't he let himself be happy?
by emilyblue ini'm in love with a man who is a witness.
i am a pretty inactive protestant, meaning my parents were only able to drag me to church twice a year on christmas eve and easter morning.
he told me early into our relationship that he wanted to marry me and spend the rest of his life with me, and that he has never felt the love for anyone else like he does for me.

Maybe if you read the books Abandoned suggested would help you.
Lady Liberty posted a link several weeks ago - www.jwfiles.com/outline.htm
Take time to read it. The more you learn the truth about JWs the easier your decision will be.
Here's a good thread on subjection - www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/126680/1.ashx

I am very sorry about your dad.
Edit: Sorry it posted before I was through typing. After reading all of the posts I was thinking the same thing willyoman said.
Wait a while before you make a decision. I know we would all love to read your story. Perhaps Randy would post it on freeminds.org like he did Barbara Anderson's.
