If you're NOT depressed you can control how you react to situations. If you're strong enough emotionally you can choose not to get upset about a certain situation.

this is a collection of confidential letters from the watchtower society that were sent to the bodies of elders in the years 1981 through 2006. these are the letters that you were never meant to see or read.. there's all sorts of information in them ranging from the boring and mundian to instructions about how to handle child molesters.. many thanks to darth frosty and others (who i'm not sure can be named) who worked very hard and took risks to collect and scan the information.

Why do bible thumpers have to immagine a God who test.
by jaguarbass ini get this daily email from a bible thumping friend of mine this was part of todays topic.. sometimes we wonder, "why do we have to go through these trials & breakings, lord?
" well, there are some things the lord can't reveal to you in advance because you're not yet ready.
he's got to let you go through some testings without your even knowing what the future holds, to see if you can take it, to see how loyal you are, to see how strong you are, to see how faithful you are, to see if you will be willing to do whatever he asks!

Two points: The original test on Adam and Eve was not a sufferance 'just' a test of obedience. Like telling your children you can have as many of those cakes on that plate as you want but don't touch the one on this plate as it's mine. Secondly: If we can become better people by overcoming 'trials' and 'tests' are those that have had an easier life lesser persons or did they just start off better. NO ONE is better off or stronger after an illness or an accident. Tests that cause suffering are destructive and damaging and have nothing to do with God.

for instance; with regard to the use of the word "why"?
for example this last weeks watchtower paragraph 17 said "the finest way to show mercy to those outside the christian congregation is to share bible truth with them.

For example this last weeks watchtower paragraph 17 said "The finest way to show mercy to those outside the Christian congregation is to share Bible truth with them. Why? Because the majority of mankind..." I feel that it should say something like: "The finest way to show mercy to those outside the Christian congregation is to share Bible truth with them. This is because the majority of mankind..." or "... the reason being the majority of mankind..." I may be alone on this one but I'd welcome anyones thoughts.

I have been called oversensitive, but one should never be called such. I am HSP others should recognize that fact and adjust their manner appropriately as I would hope to do for them. Anyone who calls another oversensitive is merely showing their insensitivity. What is good for the goose is not good for the gander. People are different and need to be treated so.

Does a person's true personality come out when they're drunk?
by lfcviking ini've heard this been said before that when you have had loads to drink and when your inhibitions are temporarily removed then the real you is exposed.
i.e:.
some people when they've got a skinfull they might start talking about money & bragg about personal financial achievements and how much more money they're going to earn.. some people after a few beers suddenly think they're rocky balboa and think they can take the world on.. others after sinking some g & t's might turn into a crazed sexual tyrannosaurus!!.

If they say the statement is 'overly critical' and you made it. Then surely, assuming you're not quoting somebody they are saying that YOU are 'overly critical' for making such a statement. If you said "You look like you've lost weight"; no doubt the person would think or say; "you're so kind"; they wouldn't say; "you're statement was so kind"
