Looking back, I realize that the JW yearbook was about the only thing I looked forward to. I would usually read it in it's entirety. When I became older and wiser, the information in the yearbook seemed so .... well, shady. Now, I've come to realize just how "doctored" those so-called experiences must have been.

What did you not like about the paradise?
by reneeisorym ini have always loved it when the seasons changes.
i was always told that we would have temerate weather all of the time and the seasons wouldn't chage.
i always thought i would miss the changing leaves, budding flowers after it has been so cold, and the snow.

And the 1,000 years of remaining strong without being perfect
Ditto! And to make things even worse, you could still be killed by Jehovah AFTER you've achieved perfection!

Week long Elders school announced
by JWFreak inat the agm it was announced that all elders in the us will attend a weeks 5 days kingdom ministry school next year.
there will be a different class held at patterson each week until all us elders have attended.
not sure about other countries.

So exactly how is this going to work ... all the US elders must journey to Patterson, away from their respective congregations for a week. Does that mean that random congregations will be elderless for an entire week?

"The meetings have been set up to exercise your mind!"
How much exercise does a mind get when it's asleep?

A good reply to the "pioneer or you're nothing" crowd.
by B_Deserter inwhenever i used to get hassled for not pioneering, i love passing along this little nugget of wisdom: "can you imagine what it would be like if everyone in the congregation pioneered?
no one would make any money to put in the contribution box, donate for gas, or buy groceries for the pioneers!
everyone would starve!".

There would be no one left to "support" the pioneers. I wonder where they would get their food, shoes, transportation ... Certianly they won't be able to depend on OTHER pioneers!

I need some serious informational help from EVERYONE!
by Thedirtysecret ini am new here and i joined honestly to collect information to understand something a little better.
my boyfriend, well-now kinda boyfriend (were at a weird place) is a jehovah's witness and i am not.
he waited a little "far" into our relationship to tell me he was, which created a mess, honestly an emotional dyfunctional mess.

Your boyfriend will get into serious trouble with the Witnesses if it is found out that he slept with you. He can be disfellowshipped for fornication. You also said he loves oral sex ... another activity forbidden for Witnesses. If he's found out, you may find yourself in a position where he'll choose his religion over you. In order to get back into favor with the Witnesses, he'll dump you. There's no guarantee of him marrying you either way. You and your child deserve someone who can be committed, not some half-baked, secret affair.

In no particular order, they are ...
1. Gummy candies and marshmallows are the absolute BEST for me! I'll take any flavour, once it's got the gummy texture.
2. Chocolate - white or dark (both ends of the spectrum).
3. Licorice Allsorts (I really LOVE those!!!)

What made you get baptized?
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inbasically, i was forced into it.
believe me, baptism was the last thing i wanted to do.
but i was already in my early twenties, and the rank and file were like why don't you get baptised!

I was 8. I remember looking out the window of my 3rd grade classroom at a big storm brewing outside. It looked like Armageddon was about to start
Your childhood innocence made me chuckle. Reminds me of how I would've reasoned at 8 years old too! Regardless, I still think 8 years old is still too young to make such a life-altering decision.

Basically, I was forced into it. Believe me, baptism was the LAST thing I wanted to do. But I was already in my early twenties, and the rank and file were like ... after every Assembly and Convention. Then one day my mom approached me with an exasperated "Why don't you get baptised!" So there I was, still living with my parents, jobless, frustrated ... I gave in simply to keep the peace.
What was your story?
