You may not believe it, but pig tails are GREAT barbecued! The preparation involves pre-cooking and pre-soaking to remove most of the salt, then marinating them in seasonings. All you need after that is your barbecue pit and favorite sauce ... scrumptious! As for "souse" that primitivegenius mentioned .. we have that here all the time. As a matter of fact, it's great street food and comes in many varieties ... chicken gizzards, chicken feet, cow's skin, pig's feet, seafood too. The only thing is that we don't eat it "congealed". The meats are rinsed well before being placed to soak in seasonings, cucumbers etc. Take it from me, it tastes much better than it sounds. |

Recipes for Pig Tails
by snowbird inwhen i was a child, my mother used to cook pig tails a lot.. she would stew them down in onions, peppers, and other spices.
then she would dust them lightly with flour and brown them in the oven.
they were simply delicious.. i haven't had any for a while now due to blood pressure problems.

Tribulation in the flesh ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inas an active jw i remember hearing that individuals who chose to marry would have "tribulation in the flesh".
what exactly is the jw interpretation of that phrase?
any ideas?.

They explained it as being divided in your affections to please your spouse rather than God.
I guess that wouldn't apply if you're married to the Stepford-Wife-JW-drone type right? -

Umbrella phrase ... okay, I suppose it joins the ranks of all the other unverifiable, indiscernible principles.Anything that can be unpleasant, or perceived as such, about the marital arrangement.
It's a classic umbrella phrase.

As an active JW I remember hearing that individuals who chose to marry would have "tribulation in the flesh". What exactly is the JW interpretation of that phrase? It always had an eerie, vague explanation that never really made sense to me.
Any ideas?

Cruel Joke by Circuit Overseer
by diamondblue1974 ini was reading the thread about the prospect of the wts releasing some new light shite about a prophecy to fulfil the fact that they are not growing and it brought back a really horrid memory, unintentional i know but horrid nonetheless.. the co visited the congregation were i was from and after the obligatory song and prayer, it was announced that the co needed to speak to us urgently on a local needs issue.
he came onto the platform his look was sombre and melancholy (nothing new there then).
he said he had an announcement from the governing body and that their had been a law passed that day which banned jw's in the uk that the usa and other world governments had notified the wts that they were to follow suit shortly.

I think any logical thinking person would know that JW's aren't (news-wise anyway) the "You've heard it here first" crowd
That's quite true. After all, congregations only encounter the CO twice every 12 months! If an announcement like that were real, it would be more practical for the local POs to give it in their relevant congos.
Tsk ... and to think his talk was considered "powerful".
