Aint perfection and paradise just great? We'll be so busy cleaning up all the mess with our "pseudo-perfect" human bodies. Wonder where our tools will come from, not to mention our food. Perhaps the death you refer to will come from starvation.

Will there be death in paradise?
by Bob Loblaw inso, from what i remember,...after armageddon, those righteous jw's who make it through will have to clean up the utter devestation.
imagine 9/11 on a world-wide scale.
they also (from what i remember) will not be miraculously perfect right away.

If I was baptized as an infant ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inif i was baptized into another faith as a baby, and never made concerted effort to cancel it ... does that nullify my jw baptism as an adult?

baptism question
by candidlynuts inwhy do the great crowd have to be baptized?
we dont partake at the memorial.. it looks like baptism would only be necessary for the " annoited" if you go by jw rules and stuff... .
i was thinking about that today and thought that its all just to control the masses.. get baptised and if you sin, they have the authority to " discipline " you .

The bottom line of the whole thing is simply control. Baptism gives

reasoning
by BR25 ini read most of the posts on here and i was just trying to get an understanding on certain topics.
i read some peoples material and why they dont believe in the jw faith.
i understand that some people left the jw faith and some people on here may never have been jws or believed in it, so i understand why you post and give info back and forth, but i have trouble understanding some of the disfellowshipped ones on here.

whereas if you just left the congregation and was not disfellowshipped you might not even care to come on here.
I would disagree with your above statement. I'm not, or never was disfellowshipped. Coming on this site made me so much more aware of how many others have doubts like myself. It it interesting to also note that there are many JWs "in good standing" who are members on this website.

As a fader who hasn't been DF'd or DA'd, technically I'm still a JW. I recently married a non JW. Even though I hadn't set foot into a Kingdom Hall (or been out in field service) in years, the elders still saw it fit to be up in my business making pronouncements. If your girlfriend is going to be very involved in the JW wonderland I doubt very much you'd be very happy in the relationship. You'll be pressured to convert, and should any children come along there's little hope of them having a normal childhood. There's also the possibility that she would be pressured to abandon you and her relationship with you altogether.

When you were in field service....
by lavendar indid you ever have anyone, at the door, say something to you that created a seed of doubt in your mind about the wts?
something at all that started you thinking "maybe i'm really not in the truth".
i would be interested in hearing about that.. thanks,.

I think that the final nail in the coffin for me was the UN scandal, even though I'd been fading for a while before that. As for the response at the door ... you guys actually had people open their doors for you?

If eating unbled meat is taboo ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inthen why is it okay to eat unbled fish?
the dictionary categorizes "meat" as the "flesh of any animal, especially a mammal".
chicken and turkey are considered meats, though they aren't mammals.

Then why is it okay to eat unbled fish?
The dictionary categorizes "meat" as the "flesh of any animal, especially a mammal". Chicken and turkey are considered meats, though they aren't mammals. Pork is from a mammal (the pig), and is called "the other white meat". Since a fish is an animal, it would reason that fish fillets, fish fingers, canned tuna etc are all "animal flesh". I was made to understand that even some vegetarians consider fish to be meat.
In JW wonderland, blood is considered so very sacred. Why doesn't the society urge J-dubs to stick to unbled fish as well?

THE BLOOD DOCTRINE CONFUSION!
by Blueblades infor lurkers and those not yet aware of this, because we have new ones joining us every day.
in 1993 david koresh led more than eighty branch davidians to their deaths in waco, texas.
in 1978 some nine hundred followers perished in a mass suicide in jonestown, guyana, under the command of their cult leader, jim jones.

I just can't fathom how anyone with even a half-functioning brain can swallow the 'new light' on blood fractions now. Who exactly gave them permission to allow blood fractions all on a sudden, the GB aren't scientists.

What was your first impression upon meeting 'worldly' people during exit?
by mavie inso, you are starting to leave the cult.
you begin to meet new people and instead of viewing them all as 'bad association', you begin to view them as fellow humans.
what was your first impression of 'worldly people'?.
-
Frequent_Fader_Miles
I got to realize that they were just normal people, not demonized as portrayed. Many of them had even more christian qualities than the so called "good association" at the Hall.
