  well, it's late.

  i need to go to sleep, got home from work, but i thought i started a newbie thread why not a thread for those who have been on the board a long time , or for awhile now ?

  so, lay it on me, what are your concerns for jwd ?

  His comment was directed at your inanimate post and you responded, ad hominim, by insulting him personally. I truly can't believe you don't see the difference.

  Then he may receive an apology from myself. I owe him no apology however, as I did not invite him to make idiotic and inane remarks in a thread that is of serious intent.

  He made a comment about a fart. You called him an idiot. Big difference there. His was a comment that may or may not have been childish or immature, that's probably up to the reader, but yours was a direct insult.

  Listen Kid, the only things you could 'learn' me is that somewhere a village is looking for its idiot, and that secondly, you are lost.

  Calling Mincan an idiot? Personally, if I were in charge, you would already have your posts for the day cut back. I don't think there's any justification whatsoever to call someone else that word. I think you owe Mincan an apology whether you like him or not.

  Should law enforcement agencies stop using tasers?

  on tuesday, a 29-year-old on his way to pick up his parents at the local airport became involved in an automobile accident.

  when police arrived he became uncooperative and so they stunned him with a taser gun.

  now he's dead.. there have been other recent reported deaths associated with the use of a taser.

  Are Taser guns proven safe? What is the risk-to-benefit ratio to society? Should there be a moratorium on Taser usage until further study is done?

  I think they should put a moratorium on their use for the time being. We got along before they existed just fine and we'll get along just fine while we figure out a safe way to implement their use.

  i just received a telephone call to set up my first interview.

  i received a pm from another long time poster - this poster has been out about the same time as i have - his circumstances in getting to his place have been quite different from mine.

  yet, he stated he feels that he is in the same place re: religion, spirituality, etc.

  so last nite he calls - and we had a wonderful conversation.

  I agree Jeff, I've had conversations with a few people here. They have all been enjoyable. I owe a few people a call too but I don't have a great phone presence so I don't call much.

  Did they give you any idea if you have a shot at the job? Did they seem impressed? I got my fingers crossed for ya! I would pray for ya but the way I've been acting lately that might be more of a curse than a blessing. LOL

  They did seem impressed. They are going to be calling me back this afternoon. I'll have to see what they say then.

  The cool thing was they deliberately put in some obstacles in the CMOS and in the TCP/IP properties and other places that I wouldn't have been able to get around unless I understood how to troubleshoot computer problems. It was cool. I just kept that quotation of Teddy Roosevelt in the front of my mind and trusted that I could get by anything set before me. Edit: How have you been acting? I bet your prayers are as powerful as anyone else's.

  The interview went really well. Actually, it wasn't an interview. It was a benchtest. They set me down in front of a computer case with all the components and screws sitting on the bench beside it and told me to get it to boot. They put a couple of obstacles in the way to see hoiw I could troubleshoot. I had it together, booted, and updated in forty-five minutes. Woohoo! I'm really happy with how I handled it.

  Mincan, sorry if I offended you. My experiences with BPD are what they are. Projection, unfortunately, has played a big part in those.

  You lost me Crumpet. You don't want to get treatment because you like the ecstatically happy aspect too much? Pardon me if I misunderstood. Being always happy isn't quite right either. Life is about the ups and downs. Being always depressed and being always manic are both issues that need addressing. Neither one is healthy over the long haul. Sorry if I didn't catch what you meant.
