How many points to I get for being a DF'd elder's kid that used to be a pioneer, that wanted to goto bethel, used to work on quick builds, went where the need was greater during the summer, and was an attendant at conventions?

I forwarded many of the links to the O'Reilly Factor. Hopefully he does something with them!!! It would be nice to see if any JW's have the guts to go on the show.
It probably wouldn't hurt if more people sent e-mail to The Factor prompting them to air this information.By the way, has anybody heard when the Dateline show is going to air?

Some of my DF'ing
by gsx1138 inwarning: this is graphic but a true account.
i was df'd for committing fornication.
i had already started to figure out that the religion had some serious flaws but that didn't stop me from feeling like all my misfortune was brought on by my disobedience to god.

One good thing about a JW chick: When they scream out "Oh God!", they really mean it!

Ever straight out lied to the elders faces?
by MarchOn indid you ever get busted for something that you really did do when you were a dub and get hauled in, just to sit there and deny what you were brought in for?
and then feel really good and not quilty when you pulled it off because they believed you?

You bet your bootey I did!!!
I got hauled into a meeting one night and they interrogated me for almost an hour. I slipped out of that one smelling like a rose.
When I got sick of lying and finally came clean with my pops it left him speachless (and I was real naughty too). Of course, being the good elder that he was, he turned me in to his cronies. When I went to talk to the elders in my DF hearing, it was the same ones who talked to me the first time! ooops -

Prejudice
by Elders_Kid init would seem to me that an organization that preaches so strongly about brotherly love could be so prejudice.. i have been d/f for just about seven years, and it wasn't until a couple of years ago that this occured to me.
remember how we couldn't spend time with people from school because they were "bad association"?
or you werent supposed to spend too much time with "worldly" relatives because they might be a bad influence?.

Well it looks like I'm gonna hang out with you guys for a while. Reading your posts, and seeing that others have similar problems is a real help in the healing process. It's just too bad that there are so many people that have been blinded by this religion that they would turn their backs on their own family members.

My husband is stepping down tomorrow night . . .
by Prisila ini'm extatic .
my husband is stepping down as an elder tomorrow.
how do you guys think that will go?

Elders_Kid
Congratulations!!!
Maybe if my dad would have done that a long time ago we could still have some form of a relationship. Think of it as meeting your husband for the first time, now you won't have to plan your life around his meetings, phone calls, etc. -

It would seem to me that an organization that preaches so strongly about brotherly love could be so prejudice.
I have been D/F for just about seven years, and it wasn't until a couple of years ago that this occured to me. Remember how we couldn't spend time with people from school because they were "bad association"? Or you werent supposed to spend too much time with "worldly" relatives because they might be a bad influence?
Now that I have been D/F my own parents have nothing to do with me. I went to my brother's wedding a few months ago at the Kingdom Hall (big mistake) and was just stared at like there was something seriously wrong with me. My extended family members would introduce themselves to my wife and not say a thing to me... they tried like crazy to avoid eye contact with me!!! My father asked me to wait outside until the ceremony started, and once it did, I had to sit in the very last row.
Oh but wait, this gets better. I was at a family member's home (not a Witness) the day before Easter, there were several members there from out of town (I had to drive accross the state to get there), including one aunt, who I hadn't seen in almost 12 years, who came from accross the country. My JW aunt took me aside and asked if we could talk. I thought that she was going to say "hi" and see how I was doing, but NO, she wanted to ask why I was there. She said that since I was D/F that she couldn't be there with me, and she wanted me to leave!!!! She made a huge scene in front of everyone!
Now all this rambling brings me back to my original statement: How can an organization that teaches about brotherly love be so prejudice? Do they honestly think that making an "outsider" feel so uncomfortable will encourage them to want to come back?If anybody else has a similar story, feel free to share it with me. I just found this site a couple of days ago, and it's nice to know that I am not the only one that has to deal with this.

Does Anyone Remember.....
by Cassiline ini was a member of a hall in pa not far from bethel as a child and teen.
there were trips scheduled every couple months to bethel for the sisters to meet the brothers there.
we would stay in a hotel couldn't tell you the name now but the society had some ties to it because the room rates were only a couple dollars per night.

Yup, my dad was at Bethel in the late 60's and he used to tell stories about it. I gues they used to joke about the "husband-hunters".
It's too bad you had to experience it!!
