do you support such marches around kingdom halls?
would you personally hold a sign up to protest the watchtower society??
do you believe this is ultimately effective to get jehovah's witnesses out of the organization??
I wish there was a way to set out good signs at safe appropriate locations, like across the street of a KH or assembly location, on a parked vehicle or other that just has:
freeminds@org or [email protected] or [email protected] or 1-800-WHY-1914 or [email protected]
here's a question that i haven't seen addressed directly:.
why are there many witnesses who enjoy the organization immensely?.
no matter what you tell them, they would not dream of leaving.
"People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be" - Abraham Lincoln
I was mostly happy as a child growing up (since 9 yrs old) in JWs. However, after becoming an adult and for sure a mother, I gradually got a "crisis of conscience." I started re-evaluating everything. One item was this: was I happy back then? Not always, but mostly. I did not love to go to meetings, and I did not love to go door-to-door. I'd usually go door-to-door with a friend (back then kids could go together door-to-door) where we would talk & giggle between houses, I'd pioneer with young friends that were fun. When I went with those who were so serious, I was miserable. School as a JW kid would be awful, but I would try to make friends there to some degree and be a good student. I realized I was happy back then but not to the credit of the JW organization. I found my way to be mostly happy, in spite of the JW organization. So even since leaving the JWs, I have found it is my responsibility to be happy. Now, it is just easier.
watch out for the questions from readers in the may 1st 2007 watchtower.
"when does the calling of christians to a heavenly hope cease?
" it's a good'un.. included are the statements:.
In the early 70's, it was very clear at Bethel that Knorr was not impressed with ones claiming to be FDS/partakers,,he clearly stated that just because they claimed to be FDS/anointed that it would be understood that they weren't just going to come up to his office and be friends. Knorr was the clearly the "pope" then.
it's not even april yet, and the watchtower society is revving up it's change at an alarming pace.. this year, the changes have all been big.. first, they announce that there will be two editions of the watchtower - a private edition for members only with only the study articles in and a public edition with no articles.
the 24 elders may be involved in communicating divine truths to the governing body.
the long held teaching that 1935 is the cutoff date for selection and gathering of the anointed has gone the way of the 1914 generation change in a convenient "questions from readers" article.. you cannot wear casual clothes after the convention, even if going out to eat.. .
We, too, were just too spiritually "numbed out" (JW way of surviving) before to notice changes, a thing that is still the same for the ones still there.
has any jw said anything to you about the eunice spry evil jehovah's witness foster mother case?.
are you in a congregation still and heard anything said by the rank and file jws?.
i visited my jw parents yesterday.
JWs don't like it when they get bad (true) publicity when one of their own have done evil. JWs are the ones always thowing stones at other religions and their problems. JWs are the ones that "put themselves" in the public, streets & house to house, "advertising, advertising, advertising." "He that lives in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
a life, a career, a woman that can think for herself and real friends .
what did you gain?
F R E E D O M ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wonder.
a very typcal witness may see the obvious negatives that jws know they have.
they might acknowledge that there's often a lack of love, that the elders can be demanding, that "new light" can change long cherished beliefs in an instant.......but still they cling on and resist any sort of intellectual discussion as to why the witnesses are off soooooo many times.....what gives??
I have not much hope for the old (I am 60 so I can say that), only for the young to leave, that path tho still not to be easy but at least not starting in a big hole.
please read the below excerpt from a 1996 questions from readers on the difference between the little flock and other sheep.
the article makes it very clear that both classes receive the holy spirit and there is absolutely no discernible difference whatsoever between the 'anointed' and the 'other sheep'.
the society is well aware there is no practical difference at all between these two so-called 'classes' of jw christians.
Thank you Blondie!!!
When was the term "governing body" first started then by JWs & where did they get that term?
