Do you know how strong you all are?
by jgnat ini'm thinking this morning at the enormous effort required to leave the witnesses.
that you all found your way here is amazing.
you are a select group of strong people, who will not allow life or any organization to knock you down.

This sounds like a manipulation, criticizing ones that now after "all" these years with all the WTS "push" are discouraged that they have used up their energies and financial resources for the work, that are now gone now that they are older and tired & discouraged with their reality and broke and no plan for their old age and may be bitter. The WTS will only criticize the individuals themselves but of course not the organization's misdirection to their poor and tired that gave it all they got but the GB will only turn to these and say "poor fools".

Patterson shock
by Phil inwell i have been there and am back.. this has got to be the most "pleasing" wake that i have ever attended.
it was performed and organized by the watchtower organization with the precisness of an organized military operation.
day one: had our greaving period alone with my son-in-law in his apartment followed with a meeting of her closest friends with a small lunch.. the following day, with a caravan of cars, we went to wallkill where a reception was followed by a graveside burial service and return to patterson to my daughter's apartment for a rest from activities.

E-watchman says Ray Franz is 'animalistic' LOL!
by yaddayadda inin a critique of 'captives of a concept', robert king accuses anyone who can't get past all of the watchtower society's 'obstacles' as animalistic and lacking spirituality, including don cameron and ray franz.
it's mindblowing how this bloke can consistently call the watchtower leaders liars, blind, false prophets, dishing up vomitous things, etc, yet continue to preach that they are still a 'faithful steward' uniquely appointed by christ.
so, while it is true that jehovahs witnesses have not come to know the judgment of jehovah, cameron is similarly captive to a concept; and hence, ignorant of jehovahs judgment.

In behalf of Ray Franz, I'd like to say at Bethel when I was there in the early 70's, he was definitely of the most humble, peacable, and unintimidating ones there and yet his morning text weeks (as GB rotated that weekly) were of the most stimulating. His wife, Cynthia, also, was of the most warm-hearted, humble, honest, hospitable, loving sisters there.

Shunned at Walmart
by Grammy inthe greeter was a woman i once called friend and who (unfortunately now) was baptized after studying with me for a year.
when i walked in i was the only one coming through the door so it's not like she didn't see me, she turned away and ignored me...not wanting to lower myself to her level i simply got a shopping cart and went about my shopping, my first instinct was to report her to management for dereliction of duty but i thought better of that because my doing so would show her it upset me.
i really owe her a debt of gratitude because it was at her baptismal talk that my first strong doubt that it was the truth finally penetrated my foggy brain, as i sat and repeated the baptismal questions to myself at the assembly when she was being baptized i realized they were not the same ones i answered in 1974, that started me on my journey out of the org.

Maybe Walmart should be informed! That, JW welcomers could not welcome any XJW, that it would be against their religion.

Bringing Children Into This World
by Mysterious insince leaving the jws how has your opinion of "bringing children into this world" changed?.
it floored me the other day to hear a 19 year old non-jw say she didn't want to bring kids into the world because of the state it was in.
it struck me as a very jw thing to say, or at least something i would not expect from a young person..

Jehova's Witnesses baptize 61 at BJCC
Sunday, June 24, 2007 GREG GARRISON News staff writer
Zachary Franklin, 9, came up for air, his T-shirt and shorts soaked. He climbed out of the swimming pool with a big grin on his face.
"I feel happier," he said.
A few minutes later, 81-year- old Alfred Tancredi took a dunk in the baptismal pool.

As volunteers mopped up water that splashed off a carpet runway, a steady flow of converts stepped up and climbed into the pool to be dunked.
Jehovah's Witnesses holding a district convention at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex baptized 61 converts in a pool on the arena floor Saturday afternoon. Young and old, they too are now Jehovah's Witnesses, part of a fast-growing denomination known for its door-to-door evangelism.
"I've tried them all, Baptist, Methodist, Holiness," said Tancredi, of Warrior. "This is the only one that spends time with you, works with you, explains the truth. This is where I've got my faith now."
More than 7,000 Jehovah's Witnesses from Alabama and Mississippi gathered at the BJCC beginning Friday, and they will wrap up their three-day regional meeting this afternoon. They listened to Bible lessons on the theme "Follow the Christ!"
They reject belief in the Catholic and Protestant doctrine of the Trinity, the idea that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all aspects of the one, true God. Witnesses emphasize using the name Jehovah to give glory to God the Creator. They believe Jesus was the son of God, but not God himself.
"We see Jesus as Jehovah's son," said Circuit Overseer Thomas J. Rucker, a featured speaker. "It's different from the trinitarian view that Jesus and God are the same."
The convention stressed that Jehovah's Witnesses do believe in Jesus, and that he is a model for believers to follow. "We're followers of Christ; that's the main thing," said newly baptized Carolyn Hood of Bessemer.
Jason Hall and his daughter, Alex Hall, 10, of Columbus, Miss., got baptized together. "I'm just so happy," Alex said, dripping wet with a towel around her as her mother, Crystal, snapped pictures. "Mama, I'm gonna go get dressed. I'm cold."
A few minutes later she returned wearing a red dress. "I'm so proud of you," her mother said. "This is the most important day of their lives."
There are more than 150 worship centers called Kingdom Halls in Alabama, with combined membership of more than 15,000. About 1.6 million people attend Jehovah's Witness regional conventions throughout the country from May through September.
