JWs forcing their "right"(?) into these areas isn't going to win points with such areas. Anyway, Puerto Rico had "0%" increase last year and decreasing in baptisms.

GATED COMMUNITIES IN PUERTO RICO: ACCESS CODES and REMOTES must be provided to the WATCHTOWER CORPORATION by APRIL 23, 2013...
by Calebs Airplane inthis case is in it's 9th year an has been touched upon briefly on and off.. the latest from the federal court is that all gated communites in puerto rico have until april 23 to provide the watchtower corporation full access.... this means the entry code or remote control devices that open the front fence.. this is clearly an act of provocation in order to create "pseudo-persecution" thereby increasing fs hours and "voluntary donations"....

Having children is bad
by dissonance_resolved inwent to the weeknight meeting this week for the first time in a long while.
the study was all about how having children was ill-advised in this time of the end- the comments dwelled on what a burden children are, how you can spend more time in the ministry without children, and look what they did in jerusalem- they cannabilized their own children!
it's going to be so horrible to watch our children suffer during the great tribulation!

A religion without children is a dead-end religion. Sure, if people don't personally want children, fine, but that should never be imposed upon, not by an organization. Yes, having children and raising them is a full-time 'ministry' onto itself, and those children should not be imposed upon to near skip their childhood and raised to be little adults (suit & tie life) for a cult.
I heard this all the time in the '70s. My first was born end of '74. I remember fearing when I got pregnant. I was so very happy, yet there was that fear/concern about the great persecution breaking out any time then. Well, I am a grandmother now and having my children and now having grandchildren is such a joy to my life and pride.
The organization warped in so ways.

are the elders waking up too?
by nowwhat? inwe have an older very faithfull elder body and whenever they talk about armegeddon or the end of this system of thiings, they always use "very near, close, soon, etc".
well on the stage one elder when talking about the great tribuation this week , he said "possibly in our lifetime" !!!
that really caught my attention and even my wife's too!

"possibly in our lifetime"
doesn't sound too urgent that way, does it? not so necessary to just give up on 'this' life, to give up on marriage, having children, just to deliberately eke by, go to extremely boring repititious meetings and knock on doors with no responses, etc etc.
I just recently have email contact with a JW that just left couple mos ago. She said some JWs are sensing something is wrong and not happy with recent changes. I suspect there is an undercurrent happening, but many are stuck in the "where else is there to go" mode. Anyway, this attitude & spirit won't be bringing in "new" ones, nor be retaining their young ones.

"42" Movie - about Jackie Robinson
by Gayle inwas so inpirational!!
i enjoyed it.. from a review: "but the deal also put both robinson and rickey in the firing line of the public, the press and even other players.
facing unabashed racism from every side, robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and restraint by not reacting in kind, knowing that any incident could destroy his and rickeys hopes.

There are different kinds of "firing" lines for different issues.. All require "courage and restraint by not reacting in kind."

The Advocates for Awareness of Watchtower Abuses (AAWA) [WARNING]
by Simon inuncensored discussions and information for anyone interested in the advocates for awareness of watchtower abuses or 'aawa' http://aawa.co/ (previously known as "the association of anti-watchtower activists http://jwactivists.org/) and how it's handled and responded to privacy issues and put people at risk:.
aawa is here!!
(the association of anti-watchtower activists)an invitation to a new effort- aawawhy when i logged onto aawa did it go to facebook ?in regards to aawaaawa - every generation needs a new revolution - thomas jeffersonnotice how the introduction of the aawa has brought out the loonies lately?will aawa become another cult?

Gayle
I hope JWN and AAWA can work together somewhat in the future with dual common purpose. JWN has a majority who can not use their names yet because of the complexity of the control of the WTS.
The WTS does not control the JWN members, but controls their families and dear friends, who they have most personal endearment. AAWA members have the utmost respect and empathy of such JWN members.
However, most AAWA members use their 'real' names because they are 100% free of the WTS control and can commit to a more 'vocal' status of exposure of the WT antics, mind-control manipulations, and hurtful destruction of personal development and family freedoms. Between the two groups, involve 'internal' and 'external' strengths.

I need some serious advice...
by confusedteenager ini'm almost a year out of high school and of course, i'm not in college.
i'm a pioneer (sigh) with little to no work experience and having a really hard time finding any work.
i want to go back to college, but it's going to be difficult now that i'm a pioneer, and my parents cannot really afford the loans that will incur should i pursue going to college.
-
Gayle
Wow, confused teenager, it's wonderful you are considering alternatives. College is a wonderful consideration for a starter. Why not walk into a local community college and talk with a counselor. You can take a test of career inclination. You may qualify for grants and loans (caution). However, you will have to have determination too. Many students are not financially supported by their parents (my kids weren't). Many do parttime work through it. Will your parents let you live there while you go to some classes locally and as you gain your independency. It won't be easy. But I sense from your comment that pioneering won't be fulfilling to you, isn't now and never will be. Don't waste these years.
Studying will be different in college than the type of studying repetitious WT stuff,, College isn't the everything, but it is a spot as a stepping stone to further fulfillment. You're young and have a good future in this world as it is. Check it out.
So many best wishes.

An Observation
by Giordano inthe society is spiritually bankrupt.....that's what we were experiencing before we left.. .
having turned their backs on their history, changed their 'truth' and abused their followers they now cling to a. clerical theology where numbers, be they accurate or not, have become the new truth.
the numbers, financial investments, real estate and blind obedience....to the death if need be....... are the firm pillors the wtbts stands on.. .

Good time for R&F to preemptively question GB validity
by irondork inwith the new light in the july 15 watchtower, now might be the perfect time for rank and file members to question wether or not the big boys are who they say they are.
in light of the fact that the men who claim to be the sole channel of communication for all mankind could not even grasp their own identity for the last 100 years, wouldn't now be a good time to turn the tables on the elders who are so quick to drag a questioning dub to the back room and demand loyalty to the governing body?.
wouldn't now be a good time to put the july 15 watchtower in the middle of the table and ask to see the credentials on these men without fear of being suspected of apostacy?

93 years later
Why all this time?
Why such an inaccuracy all this time? Can't blame it on "Babylon the Great!" (as it never originated there)
Will all the other "partakers/anointed" of the past (non=GBers) be blamed if they ever stated they were part of the FDS? (The GB have many times blamed their inaccuracies on "others!") Will they be DF'd if now they say that? Aren't they too supposed to be 'anointed?' Anointed with what? holy spirit too, right?
Makes one wonder, what else that is dogmatic now, to be unquestioned, will be changed some day, even up to 93 years later? The blood issue, shunning family, generation meaning (the '1914 generation' sure became garbled too, right?), etc.
This "channel" of communication with Jehovah, how clear is it really?
The 'static' of this "channel" is very untrustworthy.
