Keep your education in priority to get that done before any big decisions, you're so close! Get a cell phone if you haven't yet, keep it on vibrate & call back your BF when you are in the clear. Then, get a good job & move out asap. Your getting a education and getting out of the WT world will get you freedom to move on with your life in a positive mode. Best wishes!

1917 Watchtower Schism Documents PDFs
by cabasilas ini've had these items laying around for awhile and thought i'd make pdfs of them.
they are scans of some of the actual documents from the 1917 schism at watchtower headquarters: the dispute between rutherford and 4 members of the board of directors.
as far as i know, these exist as text files on a couple of sites and are also on another site with garish watermarks through them.

Kids First? "I Believe that Children are the Future"....

ok, who knows what michael jackson really believes about children, but generally speaking "worldly" people (sorry for the jw speak, but you know what i mean) indeed believe that "children are the future" and that "kids come first".
often, "worldly" parents act accordingly, and their children thrive because of the life choices (often real sacrifices) the parents make.

Absolutely true! Meetings & service, the organization are taught to have priority. Children are expected to be little adults. No missing a meeting for a demanding school homework project. No sport activity could ever bump out a meeting or Saturday morning field service. Children have lots of energy but must sit still for all the meetings, and are suppose to prepare for the meetings too tho most the programs are for the most part extremely boring, not stimulating to children's needs but the kids are never allowed to fall asleep during a meeting. They do have some fun but much more limited. They are trained to be 'different' beyond anything normal. Forget any goal of college. Being a JW is required more than being just a kid. The parents sacrifice but the children must sacrifice more.

News from Mother ship

2. major organizational changes about to start rolling out, one is changes to the "service committee" and titles, po to be done away with, thats all i know for now.
was told that if you are the sort of person that cant handle changes, you wont stay in the org for long.

I agree with JourneyOn,,I think anyone possibly being called before JC, should have a letter sent from their attorney that their personal name should not be announced in any way, shape or form from their JW platform, as any defamation of the individual's character will not be tolerated. (They should not be allowed to even say, that the individual is no longer a JW because of the false implication it entails to JWs.) My sister-in-law's father did that & to his knowledge nothing was officially announced. He did disassociate himself but with 'his' terms.

Upcoming Elders Schooling
by Questions1 init's no secret that the "organization" has increased it's cia, national security clerance only super-secret attitude in regards to the elder school that is going to be conducted soon.
a few days ago, i had a conversation with an elder who has been in the fold all of his life practically.
in keeping with the conversation style of jws, the gentleman told me that nobody knows what exactly will be taught at the meetings, but in his backdoor conversations with some brothers who seem to be tuned into the bethel's officially, unofficial, communications network, the elders are going to be taught "post-armageddon" teachings.

the prophecy of the King of the North and South has been fullfilled and that the cry for peace and security might not be an actual statement, but a shared emotion that the two superpowers share for a brief time.
This struck me as humorous, that this prophecy would not be a 'cry' (aloud) but more like a feeling (silent). Kinda like the prophecy of application of Jesus coming in 1914 'visibly' but later stating it was 'invisible.' Oh, the flip-flops!

while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

Jerry Decker died a few months back, was still a JW. He was at Bethel mid 60's-early 80's. He married Laura Bushing at Bethel. They had three children. They were serving in Mexico for several years.

David Barr died May 18 2004 (54 yrs old). Bill Minette ('67- '71), me, Gayle Minette ('69-'74), married Patrick Smythe at Bethel (we're divorced), Debbie Minette Barr ('74-'78), David Minette ('74-'78). We were all at Brooklyn Bethel.

[published: monday 24, december 2007 - 18:09] the high court has ruled that a premature baby must be given a life-saving blood transfusion, despite the objections of its parents who are jehovah's witnesses.
mr justice george birmingham has directed that the transfusion be carried out only as a last resort and when no alternative treatment is regarded as viable.

any thoughts?
by BIG D infor those of you that dont know me, i am a single dad with 3 boys for 5 years now, my x signed her rights away long ago.. .
no support ever, no insurance, even before she signed her rights away, many long stories of her abuse that caused her to lose custody to me years ago, she has never dealt with her abuse over even acknowledged it, i put my kids thru years of counseling, and they do not wish to see her, she has been calling alot lately, i dont hear from her for maybe 4 months at a time, she is crying , wanting to try to see them.. i must tell you she has , mentally , physically, and mentally sexually abused them, and then charged me with sexual abuse, with which it took me a year in evaluations, and family studies , and 35,000 in lawyer fees to disprove, and the judge saw her lies and removed them from her for abuse.
i also believe she has many emotional problems , both real and imagined.

I am a grandma (61 yrs old), I am most forgiving, somewhat partial to the mom-role,,however, absolutely don't let her see the kids,,let her cry,,your children need your security & and to see by your example that abuse of children will not be tolerated. When they are grown (over 18), then the kids can make a decision on whether they will want to see her again.
