  My pioneer sister called yesterday

  as soon as i saw the number i knew something bad had happened.

  seems my mother (71) has breast cancer in her remaining breast.

  her first time was in 2001. i volunteered my son's services for taxiing back and forth or whatever is needed.

  So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope treatments will help again. Such a difficult time for a whole family.

  My mother died of Hodgkins cancer. Of course, all comments were that she would be resurrected 'soon.' That was in 1970.

  breaking an engagement consequences

  what are the consequenses of breaking an engagement between two jws which lasted 2 years?.

  Years ago, if a Bethelite broke an engagement, would be immediately "dismissed" from Bethel and no "privileges" (pioneer, MS, elder) for at least a year or so.

  Fading with children in tow

  Go slow,,actually the children can acclimate and integrate into the real life more easily. Going slowly, one day at a time for sure. If you are not going at all and their father is not that active, then the kids find an open window in their lives. Little by little. Encourage them in sports, if they are inclined. Mine were very active, sportsy so all that came natural and a healthy diversion for us.

  Always encouraged school and extracurriculars. So none of them were ever baptized. Again, their dad wasn't hardly active so was relatively easy for us. I always reminded them to be respectful of their dad and how he believed and he didn't push against things much, except holidays, of course. All five kids graduated college too and are grateful for their freedom of mind and heart.

  So many best wishes in the best part of your life ahead and for your children to be able to look back on their youth with joy, no fear of destruction, and their mom having unconditional love for them.

  How do I keep from being an enabler while not appearing like Satan

  one thing that i havn't mentioned in any of my posts is that i have a 26 year old son along with the 4 kids that my wife and i have together.

  i became a father very young, 15 to be exact.

  that's a whole other issue but not on this post.

  if anything, you sound like a gentle soul,,taking everyone else into consideration,,but maybe not yourself enough. Your concerns are valid regarding your younger son. Time for your son to get "reality." Time is now, for his own sake, it won't get any easier.

  Stay Alive Til 2020

  i've been playing around with wt statistics recently, helped by the great data available on jwfacts.com.

  i wanted to share somehting with the community, maybe you've seen something like this before.. continuing the trend of decline seen during the last 30 years, i was able to extrapolate the year when wt growth might finally end.

  if trends continue, we may only have to wait about 8 more years, 9 years to see it reported if the wt decides to report it at all, to see publisher growth end and possibly reverse.. the graph shows the annual growth rate of average publishers during the last 31 years.

  Well, 'if' the Pope is shaken and weakened at the Catholic church policy in the past protecting their pedophile priests, then he would be a better guy than the GB, as they don't seem to be shaken, weakened, ashamed at the WTS policy about their pedophiles at all.

  hello, so i have decided to da myself and will write a da letter to the body of elders.... do you have any ideas of what i can include in this letter or samples?...

  Whether you write one sentence or a thousand, the outcome will be quick and the same result. They (elders, service department, GB) will take nothing to heart. There is no justification to them about it, and you will leave with no respect, or honor from them.

  according to the docket, wts was notified that their opening brief has not been timely filed.

  their appeal will be dismissed if there is no further activity by february 22, 2013.

  Such a curious thing now. Then, they have a couple weeks, to "throw in the towel?" or go back in for the 'long haul' fight? Intriguing!
