by sir82 inhere's the latest cost-cutting move: the society is going to stop producing audio versions of its magazines on disk, and instead make them available as downloadable mp3 files from [somewhere, probably watchtower.org] on the internet.
i haven't seen the letter, but our po gave me a heads-up on it.
the letter will be read to the congregations this week.. so, thousands of good jws who were convinced "satan lives on the internet" will now be scrambling to get their dsl lines so they can be able to listen to the latest magazines.

oregon is losing at the begginning of the 4th quarter, 31 to 17. if oklahoma wins its next 2 .
games, we will meet kansas, in the big 12 championship game.

Lifelong Bama fan here. I think we'll beat State by 10-14 points, but unfortunately I think the Barn will beat the Dawgs too. The visiting team has dominated that game for as long as I can remember. RTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

china's predominantly state-owned oil company surpassed exxon today in market value, and they are currently drilling not far off the coast of florida(by way of cuba).

Looks like we here in the good ole US of A may be paying $3.50/ gallon when spring hits next year, if this trend continues. China's predominantly state-owned oil company surpassed Exxon today in market value, and they are currently drilling not far off the coast of Florida(by way of Cuba). I say we need to open up exploration immediately in ANWAR and increase drilling in the gulf, and also off the coast of California. What are your thoughts?

i totally understand those who choose to stay single, as i was single for 6 years before i got married again !
as experts say, next to death it's one of the hardest experiences you'll go through !

I've learned that getting married in our legal system will open you up to a lot of potential liability, and that the only way I would ever consider remarrying would be if we both agreed on a prenup.

We did it every year. Not to defend the org, but keep in mind that the US version of "thanksgiving" is not rooted in a "pagan" custom or religion, like so many of the other secular holidays are. It has it's roots in very early american judeo-christian history. This was the main rationalization that I think my family and others in the area had, as opposed to the shop-worn "well, turkey is cheap this time of year" old saw....

As long as the hardliners, led primarily by Ted Jaracz, continue to have a chokehold on this organization, college and/or any secondary education will continue to be frowned upon at the least and downright forbidden at the worst by most in positions of leadership in the organization. Lloyd Barry, when he was alive, tried to moderate the society's position on college, but my understanding is that when he died that effort died with him.

That kind of sums up my feelings on the matter. I dont belong to any political party, but I DO consider myself to be very conservative in my outlook of the world.
