my mother had been a faithful witness for 16 yrs, she got addicted to prescription drugs and things got very bad for her.
she overdosed one nite and was put in rehab.
she began smoking after rehab and was disfellowhipped for it, she got a letter in the mail .
Keep asking, I'm sure there are plenty of stories just waiting to be told.
I had to choose between disappointing my family, friends, and being shunned... or suicide. It was difficult, but I chose to live for myself instead of them. I DAed myself.

how does your "on screen" sexual-personality line up with your "in person everyday" one?.
for example: some posters are very liberated & graphic on-line when discussing sex, but to their mate or to the average person on the street they may seem like "old-dubs" or just very conservative.. please answer honestly & give me a break, this might be my first "fluffer"

really.. this is not a nice friendly post to any active jehovah's witness but is something they should read anyway.
I'm not concerned about such things... life is full of risks. You never know when you are going to bite the big one.
About 3000 people were killed in the Sept. 11 2001 attacks... since then countless thousands more have died as a result of other "common" causes. I don't see anyone getting all bent out of shape over those deaths.

as an active jw, did you really ever believe that you would survive armageddon?
with me, i served as an elder, regular pioneer, was over the book room at district conventions, but i always felt it was not enough, i was never real sure i would survive the big day of god almighty!!
the reason i ask y'all is, i don't think you can feel real sure in a organization that is legalistic and work orientated .
I didn't think about "spiritual" things very much, it just was not and never has been in my nature. The few times that I managed to force myself (Book: 1984) to think in spiritual terms I concluded that I was a goner - no one could possibly live up to the standards set by the Org.
I eventually got tired of forcing myself to "believe" and DAed myself announcing that I was an atheist.

whats your earliest memory?.
i can remmember going to see my new-born sister in hospital when i was 2 years old.. funny thing is i remmember , remmembering that i remmembered things from the past as a 2 year old , but i carnt remmember the actual things themself.. i hope that makes sense.. i wonder if i can access earlier memories by some technique?
Crawling around under my house looking for "fossils" and other “artifacts”. I guess I was three or four. I found several “dinosaur fossils”.

just watching a programme about the gospel accounts and one thing struck me - the notion that jesus sweat blood.
apparently it was the stress of his impending death.. now, as a sceptic, the problems i have with this account are:.
it's medically impossible to sweat blood.. there is a disease (hematohidrosis) where plasma cells can color the sweat to make it appear to be 'as if blood'.. jesus was supposed to be perfect!
