Small problem, in this "corporation" there are millions of voting members that are very pleased with the performance of the Governing Body. The catch is, if you are not very pleased, you are kicked out of the corporation.
I don't think they'll be resigning anytime soon.

DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF THE GOVERNING BODY
by Pistoff inin view of the breathtaking mistakes made by the governing body in the last 10 years, the time has come for all with influence in or out of the organization of jehovah's witnesses to ask for the resignation of the entire governing body.
in the past 5 years alone, we have seen the defacto president of the watchtower society, theodore jarascz, dismiss reporters from the bbc without addressing their questions about sex abuse; they have denied repeatedly that there is a problem in the 2 witness to sex abuse policy; they have arranged the excommunication of whistleblowers in the organization, implying that they are spiritually deficient or worse.
thousands of members of this fellowship have been sexually abused by family or friends in the group, only to be told that it didn't happen, that they misunderstood it, and if they could not produce a second witness or the accused confessed, they were told that they must be silent or face shunning.

Can God see the future?
by Adolfius ini've been out a while, but i remember thinking about this as a teenager and being confused, (my mother told me i must be posessed by demons to think such things and so never offered me an explanation).
what do the jws say about it.
if jehovah can see into the future, he would've known what a mess he was going to make of creation so he would've decided against it before he even thought of it.. based on the theory that he went ahead and created everything anyway, that must mean he can't see into the future.. i also seem to remember that god doesn't interfere with man, because we have free will, so all our actions are down to us and in no way "steered" or "influenced" by god.. so how can he make predictions about the future, i.e.

The downside of what you describe is that God (as maker) becomes responsible for what he has wrought.
If I build a machine that goes awry and flattens people I get sued. Why? The machine did the flattending, right?
No, I set it in motion, designed it and hold final moral culpability.
By your logic, if I get in an accident I should be able to sue the auto manufacturer because I wouldn't have had an accident if they didn't manufacture the car. Would it be better then to ban cars, because of your personal potential for risk?
You are assuming that if/when God looked into the future of creating mankind that they were destined for misery and suffering for all eternity. This assumption is based off your view of the past and the present. One can only assume that -IF- God predicted the future of mankind that he was satisfied with the eventual outcome. -

As I understand it, God can't see the future as much as he's really really smart.
Look at it this way. The more I know about you, the better I can predict your behavior. So what would happen if I knew every single atom of you, would I be able to predict how you were to react to something? Now what if God knew the precise atomic structure of everything. He would be able to determine everybody's reactions to each other and the environment to 100% accuracy.
So it's not so much that he can see the future, in that we don't have free will, but rather he can "mentally" calculate the events of the world forward to infinity.
That's how it was explained to me. It's much easier to believe that there is not all powerful God. -

Notes on Child Abuse Settlement
by Amazing inthe article by silentlambs is somewhat misleading.
yes, the suits were settled with gag orders.
it is customary to do so in almost any settlement case.

It is very unlikely that the exact figure or even a close guess will ever be known. Anyone suggesting a particular dollar figure, even range is pure speculation.

My job involves typing every day. I can type as quickly as I can speak.
Tossing up a huge block of text is easy for me. Maybe that's why I'm so long winded? -

Would you really want to live forever
by darth frosty ini just finished reading this book called the alchemist.
it is a very compelling story about following your dreams.
what i found most intriguing about the book is the depth of spirituality it brought out in me.

The Alchemist is a fantastic book. The main highlight is to follow your dreams.
As for living forever, there's always with a catch. I would find living forever appealing, but I don't like the WT's view of eternal life.
I'd rather die a free person than live forever as a slave. -

Perry said:
This discovery gives immensely powerful support to the proposition that dinosaur fossils are not millions of years old at all, but were mostly fossilized under catastrophic conditions a few thousand years ago at most.
Perry missed the point where the scientist said:
This substitution process was thought to be complete by 1 million years.
Paralipomenon says:
Your assertions seem to have a 997,000 year buffer for error.
Sometimes, when you really want to see something, you'll ignore the points that don't support your vision. :) -

100 foreskins for your daughter
by Zep inthought dating and marriage was tough in the year 2000...well just check out what david had to go through.. david wants to marry michal, sauls daughter.so whats he have to do?.
samuel 18:25-28. at that saul said: "this is what you men will say to david, "the king has delight, not in marriage money, but in a hundred foreskins of the philistines".
so david rose and struck down among the philistines two hundred men, and came bringing their foreskins and giving them in full number to the king to form a marriage alliance with the king.. lol

Can you imagine how much it would suck to be a Philistine on that day?
First you'd be scared to be attacked by a raving madman. Then when you see what he was doing to the corpses, I don't care how brave you are, I would have gotten the hell out of there. -

If any of your think that Mad is gone, you have much to learn about internet trolls.
They don't go away. They never go away.
Well until you IP ban them, most aren't smart enough to learn how to get around those. -
