  How can one convince another that 1 Bible is supperiot then 76 other Bibles

  ......especially if that person hasn't read all 77 bibles?

  you may or may not aware, there are currently 77 different translations of the bible widely used in the us today.

  i personally use 5 of them (kjv, niv, amp, nasb, message).

I personally use 5 of them (KJV, NIV, AMP, NASB, Message). As a JW, what was the reasoning behind convincing yourself that the NWT was superior to all other translations, especially if you didn't read it?

  i attend a large church just outside of detroit, and he has told uf often that we should live our life and post our priorities as follows:.

I attend a large church just outside of Detroit, and he has told uf often that we should live our life and post our priorities as follows:. #1: God. Always put him 1st, no matter what. #2: Your Family. Should come immediately after God. #3: Yourself. This will become more clear in #4. #4: The Church(physical/organized structure..ie The Hall for JWs). Seriously, If you can't serve your Family...or make sure you are well taken care of 1st (ie, are not sick, phyically tired, mentally drained etc.), you are strongly suggested NOT to volunteer at the church until #2 and #3 are properly done. At my church, you still should come to Church at least Once a week, twice if you have the time to. Some people can't come to every service every week because of Job commitments, and yet my Pastor completely understands that.

  It appears that the WTS seems hasn't Read Gal 6:1-3

  galatians 6:1-3 (amplified bible)....1brethren, if any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.......2bear (endure, carry) one another's burdens and [a]troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of christ (the messiah) and complete [b]what is lacking [in your obedience to it]..........3for if any person thinks himself to be somebody [too important to condescend to shoulder another's load] when he is nobody [of superiority except in his own estimation], he deceives and deludes and cheats himself.

  to me, this scripture basically tells me that disfellowshiping isn't the answer at all.

  Whats the point? The WTS has already distorted the scriptural meaning..... 1 Brothers, even though a man takes some false step before he is aware of it, YOU who have spiritual qualifications try to readjust such a man in a spirit of mildness, as you each keep an eye on yourself, for fear you also may be tempted. 2 Go on carrying the burdens of one another, and thus fulfill the law of the Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he is deceiving his own mind.

  Is it possible to have a intellegent conversation with a JW?

  I was watching a special on CNN Saturday about Muslims and them worshiping "Allah". I said to my self "They are worshiping a false god." The Holy Spirit then said to me, and I'm paraphrasing "What makes that different then you saying Jehovah?" Right there, I was stumped, and stunned. Trying to rationalize the reasoning, I came to the conclusion about 3 minutes later that there wasn't a difference, because "Jehovah" is a artificial name, made up in the English Lanuage, just like "Allah" is in Arabic.

  So I decided to do some research, and I found soemthing interesting. In my Lexicon, I found this interesting tidbit, #1943Hovah, another form for 1942; RUIN:-MISCHIEF.

  Now, I am NOT saying that worshiping the God of Israel is worshiping a false God. What I am saying is, we should be calling him by his Jewish Name, which is Yahweh.

  Yesterday, the Spirit gave me another nugget on this. If your name was Ifkenneka in a particular African tounge. If you move to the US, or any other English speaking country, your name will always be the same, eventhough you are give some sort of nicknaem, thats not your official/given name. Your official/given name will always be Ifkenneka, no matter what lanuage you speak.

  there was a graph on jwd about a year ago with the % of followers with a university education.

  it had jews as one of the most educated groups.

  and jws as one of the least educated.
