  Tossed out of the District Convention! What did I do wrong? I exist!!

  this is a stupid story if it is a story at all..... quentin and i decided we'd go to the district convention since it is right here in our home town.. why?.

  oh, curiousity.

  You and I dont always see eye to eye but during my time on this board you have struck me as very genuine guy, you are passionate about what you are passionate about, you shout it from the rooftops and people listen. And it also obvious that you have a heart as big as a 'freakin' mountain.

  With that in mind please stop beating on yourself over people who are misguided, controlled and beyond being reached at this moment.

  You are lovely so just get on with being the big, loud, lovely, opinionated guy who makes some sit up and think........(though not always agree)

  Why do most people not think?

  i have just had a long conversation with a dear friend, and we came to the same conclusion most people do not really think.. he is 75 and is fizzing with ideas, got a phd at 60. in fractals( no have little idea what they are).

  for instance it was and is blindingly obvious to me that the price of oil would drop, it has a little.

  the reasons are simple and i am prepared to discuuss that if you want.. i have observed in relationships recently, my own included, that we ignore the what is happening, and often to our, and our familie's long term benefit.

  Did you want to be welcome there?

  What he was actually saying (although he didnt realise it himself) is 'This sister knows you do not agree with the jws religion, she knows because you have spoken to her about it........but unfortunately (and this is the bit he is not aware of) our minds are controlled by this organisation and because of that we would rather not have people who challenge our belief system, who could run rings round us mentally and expose every false teaching we have evr been exposed too. You are not welcome because we do not wish to think and would rather have our thinking done for us. You are not welcome because we are comfortable with the lies we have been fed and soaked up like the sponges we are.'

  If any of those guilty of turning you out go away and think of the parable of the prodigal son then I hope they feel shame.

  Good on you for not causing a scene and giving them something to gas on about until Armageddon doesnt come!

  several years ago i was contacted by a well-known (actually famous and well-published) professor from the university of california at san diego and we had lunch.

  he bought lunch.

  doesn't everyone write books to make a whole big bunch of money?.

  Watchtower Blood Component/Fraction Deception

  the watchtower attempts to create a semblance of logic to its allowance of blood fractions by presenting the concept that blood consists of four primary "components".

  use of these components are unchristian.

  these components can be broken into "fractions", which are acceptable to use.

  I was one of those takers of fractions.............I had to have Anti D after my pregnancies because of my blood group and my husbands, to prevent harm to future possible babies.

  I never really got this 'matter of conscience' issue...........either you can or you cant.............but I did anyway........and I am glad.

  So this has always been a cause of concern to me and one of which I spoke to elder about who recently visited me.........his answer 'We may not have got everything right yet'............I think he is probably soooooo right he has no idea.

  Trouble is if they totally reverse their decision about blood they would be looking at potential mass law suits for people who have lost family members because of their flawed doctrine and they would certainly lose many congregational members!!!

  Does Someone Have to be Religious to Be a Good Person?

  this is something my wife and i were discussing the other day .

  in a general view of religious people - most religious people feel it makes them holier, better, or on a higher moral plane claiming to worship god in an organized religion.

  in the jehovah's witnesses view - the outside world is evil, and they claim that if you get away from their religion , and " fall away" a person is doomed to go astray, doing various sundry things like murder, adultery, stealing, orgies, because " they claim " that they have fallen " out of " god's favor.

  I think when you strip us all down that most folk are not to different we are just at various stages of lifes journey with different baggage. I dont think many folk set out to hurt, insult or upset others it just sometimes happens that way.

  What you say or do to one person might upset them but would be water of a ducks back to others.We all deal with things differently, we all have different perspectives and to try and judge who is good, decent or caring regardless of religion, is an enormous task to say the least.

  Take for example complete strangers on a board like this.............how can we possibly know anothers true self, their motivation or just how good, decent and caring they really are. Sometimes the things we dont see are the things that count!

  this is what my spouse said after i mentioned issues i have seen on here...the bs being combined, the bethelites being reassigned, the possible termination of co's, etc... she said if that i didn't want anything to do with religion that i shouldn't even be on this site looking into issues such as these.

  it has made me to wonder if she isn't right.

  am i just trying to reason with myself or am i seeking to avenge myself against the wbts?

  I think following on from the sunglasses, you should wear a baseball cap, employ the services of 2 big burly bodyguard type figures and make out you are somebody famous attempting to disguise themselves..................you might as well have some fun whilst your there!
