Great idea, pricey in the beginning but there are plenty of parents who spend more time and money in the long run by not showing any interest
up front.

i know a hardworking father who wanted to keep his intelligent daughter away from obsessing about boys and empty headed fashion.. so, he started an on line brokerage account in her name and funded it with $3000.
he told her to study the stock market and that she could.
keep any money she makes.
Great idea, pricey in the beginning but there are plenty of parents who spend more time and money in the long run by not showing any interest
up front.

my son invited me but i lost the email.
he is giving the talk...yikes!.
It happened almost 2000 years ago.
Matt 5-7, it is the only special talk that was or is truly worth getting excited over.
When I hear "special" I cannot but think of a sales pitch, special promotion, limited time, hurry hurry hurry. Sorry but it sounds like desperation to get others to come.
If it is special does that mean that the other 51 weeks are not really important to make?

i thought it would be polite if i just introduced myself.
i am a former jehovah's witness that left studying a few years back for the purpose of solace and grace in my life, freedom from the hypocrisy of men, and the teachings which the bible does not correspond with.
i have since adopted a more simple way of living, and no longer have to worry about ring around the collar, or that book study that i never read ahead for.
Welcome and congrats Creeper, good to have you and keep posting.

jehovah wiping out 99.99% of humanity, babies included, is a "problem" or "question" that i think can be very powerful to use with jw family.
especially when presented from a "i just really have a problem with this idea at a gut level" standpoint.. but i haven't used it with my wife (yet) because i see it as a slippery slope that leads to "jesus believed the whole flood story" so i guess we need to throw out the whole bible.
(which, btw, is the very slope i have gone down.
Jehovah wiping out 99.99% of humanity, babies included, is a "problem" or "question" that I think can be very powerful to use with JW family.
That has always bothered me and when I left I thought how can this be true with Armageddon coming and the Bible says various things that doesn' fit into the JW philosophy of almost complete annihilation
First we are not the judges, those that do judge will be judge accordingly
Second Is 55:7,8 His thoughts are higher than ours
Third His judgements are unsearchable Romm 11:33,34, we also cant know his mind, 1 Cor 2:16
Genesis 18:25 He is going to do what is right and I leave it at that. VSS 25It is unthinkable of you that you are acting in this manner to put to death the righteous man with the wicked one so that it has to occur with the righteous man as it does with the wicked! It is unthinkable of you. Is the Judge of all the earth not going to do what is right?”
None of us deserve life including JW, but the thought of wiping all mankind out is their thinking and not scriptural, I think as Paul said we are all going to be surprise at what God has in store for the future but I will not base it off man made thinking, rather leave it to God who knows best and will do what is right.

there are many things the bible says christians could do and things the bible describes christians doing that, according to their doctrine, jws can't do.. christians could talk directly to jesus.
(acts 7:54-60; acts 9:3-16) can you?
christians could decide for themselves which days they chose to observe without any fear of religious retribution.
Welcome AnewLief and great points, thanks for the info, very useful and helpful.

i believe that i am experiencing a profound change in my personality, and those changes are at a stage where i have honestly contemplated this recently.
honestly.. i don't think i could ever do it - anyone who has followed me on the boards here know that i am neither suicidal nor an apologist for that lot.
yet, having been off work for a few weeks now with surgical recovery, i have had time to make assessment of my future.
In reading your post Jeff, you already know not to go back, you are suffering from the normal need to feel apart of something and someone in a social sense.
In going back is like the dog returning to his vomit and especially the lack of love, the fake love of many of the brothers and the hypocrisy.
I think that you have more skills then you mentioned, try getting into a hobby, joining a club or helping others.
Sorry to hear about your feelings of lonilness and self worth. Wish you the best.

continuation of my first post: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/132283/1.ashx.
this past tuesday the jw lady came back, which surprised me.
she came with her husband and i told them that it wasnt really fair (one against two).
I hope that someone can answer me; what the JW’s really believe.
Apparently blasphemy, the Bible never says this but rather says 1Tim 2:5,6 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all—[this is] what is to be witnessed to at its own particular times.
I choose to believe the Bible and not a man made religion, it says ALL, that encompasses more than 144,000

....for saying "nappy headed hos".
he's off tv and radio.
personally, he's never been my favorite but i like him more than the reverend al sharpton!
Never cared for his show but glad he is leaving and fired, when you make a living with your mouth keep it in check.
This kind of speech and whether it was joking or not, is wrong.
Glad they made an example of him.
