do not understand "slow" fade, "controlled" fade, why not just stop quickly

onthewayout has a current thread about a slow fade, and i have read many others that are similar.

i do not understand how fading slowly vs. fading very quickly has any different consequences.

and i mean whether an elder or pioneer or not.

Not to knock what anyone does, but I guess what works for one will not work for another and visa versa, however to me it comes down to fooling.

Who are we trying to fool or who really is being fooled? Others or ourselves?

If Your Spouse Told The Elders On U, Is That a Marital or Religious Problem

if a faithful devout jw saw her husband on a board like this or reading "apostate" literature, if she was so disturbed by her husband's actions and the husband justified himself, would you think that if she told the elders because she was truly concerned that her mate was going to leave "the truth" and ultimately not make it into the "new system", --------that this was simply a marital issue-----not a religious one?.

I believe it is both,

If she says she truly believes in the Bible and according to 1 Cor 11:3 and 14:34,35, she is to answer to her Husband, then Christ, then to God, never the BOE or FDS or an organization. The organization has help to usurp the husband, then Christ and then ultimately God

As this happens it is a religious issue and now it has become a marital issue as she can no longer deal with her husband but must use outsiders to talk to, cope with, she has left her friend and lover to turn him in and for what??? Loyality to other men.

Share your crazy jw divorce behavior stories

so after marrying a good jw girl at 18 who was an elders daughter (married at 18 like most jw kids).

she was leaving for weeks (6-8) at a time to "visit" her parents in the same state(3 hours away).

i finally had enough of it and told her it was over.

My ex realized that I was never going to do the witness thing fully anymore, before she left on "spiritual endangerment" grounds, she had me in front of two elders three weeks before she left, the charges, having a dinner with my sister who faded, not DF'd. As I prepared for the meeting as she went to FS, I met with the two elders and after three hours of them using only 2 scriptures and me using over 25 and coming in with a pile of bound volumn and then telling them that they deserved to be on a committe case for several serious wrongdoings that required Disfellowshipping, they said, "this meeting is over" and left rather quickly.

Three weeks later, my ex, left my daughter of 16 years old and me for "spiritual endangerment". I called the elders who refused to meet with me, refused to me with my ex and me but would meet with her father and her but never told my any details of their discussions. Using the Bible at 1 Cor 11:3 and 14:24,35, explained to them they were usurping the headship principle that they so often spoke about, there was silence on the other end and no return phone calls.

I called Headquarters to get a brother who deals with problems in our area, only to quote me from the WT and Awake as I used the Bible and eventually hung up on him in disbelief, as they only used their own printing over the Bible.

She did apply for the divorce, changed her name back in the first week of leaving. Her family likewise a week after her leaving came in as I took my daughter on a 5 day vacation to the ocean, cleaned me out of most of my furniture, all our antiques, raided what they wanted and broke the principle, "what God is sowing let no man put apart".

She eventually got her divorce 4 months later, took about 65-70% of everything after closing out our bank accounts the week before she left. The "brothers" didnt call me for 8 months until the judical case as 7 family members waited outside my apartment with my finance and they got me on "adultery".

The new Judical Case was not any different then the "investigation meeting" as the elders sat there and I used the Bible and questions as they just stared at the table for over an hour and fifteen minutes, humiliated and put to shame as they knew this was a kangaroo court and they never shepherded my daughter and myself for over 8 months. Two of the elders I use to shepherd all the time, years before, the other a co-worker for 12 years and knew of plenty of crap that he didnt let his pioneer wife know nor the elders, But they did what they were going to do anyway.

I refused to sit and watch 7 of her family members testify against me as I knew of two of them who lied deliberately to me during the whole separation thing, one a pioneer and the other an elder to protect their own family member. They DF'd me and I have moved on.

PS. No hard feelings, it was best in the long run, I wish them all the best!!!

Avid, I think you are still moving within the JW framework for the issue

No, this was a hypothetical to get minds thinking, no one knows what the next 7 days will bring or even the next 7 minutes. It was a matter, when the END or OUR END comes, which could be any second. Are we content with our relationship God, or would we really blaspheme God and curse Him out?

My thinking is so far from JW's, no one in my entire area is hated more by the Witnesses than me, after 6 1/2 years out, I am still the constant subject of gossip, slander and used as meeting parts of the former elder who it the worst apostate and even out right lies. Trust me, I dont know how you can be hated more by the witnesses, I have people literally run out of stores at just my presense in stores/restrurants, this is not an isolated or one time event.

Funny thing is, I dont curse, never been in a fight, I am totally non confrontational, say hi to them in kindness, have tried to just talk to them without being rude. Funny how people can allow slander and lies to mold their thinking. Oh, well I pray that God forgives them.

If it does, and God then reveals Himself on top of that, I feel I have not done enough wrong in my life that He should take my life. Abraham reasoned with God - maybe I'll do the same if this comes to pass.

I really hope and pray that when all the dust settles, as the scriptures says below, God will be prove true, and we are all there with a gapping mouth hanging wide open as He is merciful with all as none of us are right, only He is. No one is better than anyone else!!!! NO ONE!!!!!!!

No, I dont think I am saved, I dont judge people and realize that Christ is the appointed Judge, not me, as Paul said, I am not worthy to judge even myself and it doesn't matter what I think, only what Christ thinks as the appointed judge. 1 Cor 4:1-6

As Paul said, he kept reaching for it, but realized it was not a gaurantee until he finished his life faithfully for what he was called and still then it is a free gift, nothing earned, no amount of meetings, door knocking, Bible reading, praying, no amount of doing good. It a free gift based on grace and faith, not works.

I have resolved myself, I know that this is a better life following the scriptures, it is safer, healthier, more "peaceful" but even if there is not life at the end for me. I cannot disagree with God's judgements anyway, but as a sinner if I get death, I only get what I deserve. I for my part, pray for the strenght to do what is right with His patience for as Paul said, "the good I want to do, I dont, the bad I do not wish is what I do". Life is a struggle and a journey, I hope to make God's face smile, make some friends along the way and treat ALL my fellow man with respect and love, if they dont reciprecate, no one can change another, I only pray and hope the best for them and wish whatever it is that has hardened them, they get peace from it and enjoy life to it fullest.

Then we could excersize our freewill to worship him or not.
And he could greatly bless the ones that do...sure, it's bribery, but it's a site better than using fear of death as an incentive to worship.

I think this has been a fundemental feature that has been lacking in religion, they have taught fear of God and not Love of God, Love will always act as a stronger motivation then fear. Fear will work for so long, but love will last.

I guess it all comes down to whether we love God or not, do we actually know Him well enough to love Him. Religion has failed to reveal the accuracy of God, instead they have painted a heartless, tyrannical God, Religion has done more damage than good. This is why I did my own personal examination and continue to do so and have found the real Person behind the curtain. Love believes all things, hope all things, lovenever fails.
