I never want a man in a tie in my house again.
That about sums it up, doesn't it?
I'm sorry you are having such a hard time.
an elder who handled the minor matter with my husband a few weeks ago called to see how we were doing.
this guy genuinely is a gentle, kind, man whom the congregation loves.
he's the one everyone approaches because he never judges or condescends.
I never want a man in a tie in my house again.
That about sums it up, doesn't it?

monday begins the greatest demonstration of faith or suspended reality we have in modern times.
116 cardinals will begin the voting process by which they claim to listen to god speak to them in their prayers and meditations in electing the next pope.
voting 4 times per day sometimes they will whittle down the list of those names god is whispering in their ears.. from the usa, cardinals dolan and mahoney can only be described as giddy with their rock star like status tweeting the faithful back home the day to day excitement surrounding the conclave soon to be in session.. sort of a modern play on scissors paper rock or telegraph it takes several attempts to listen to god's choice and then the white smoke appears.. the gb must be taking a keen interest in this fascinating process of dupping millions of believers and wondering- how can we get away with this too.

space weather news for march 9, 2013. http://spaceweather.com.
bright comet: this weekend, bright comet pan-starrs is making a close approach to the sun inside the orbit of mercury where fierce solar heat is helping the comet reach naked-eye visibility.
observers in the northern hemisphere are making their first sightings now as the comet emerges from solar glare low in the western sky after sunset.
I'm hoping we have clear skies next week -- I'd love to see the comet.

why does the OP set off my BS detector?
for years, i was told this..... " anyone who leaves the org is bitter, sad, and worse off, why do you think they come back???
guess what guys i am the opposite, now i quit cold-turkey (looking back, i should have faded correctly) i am planning on going to the memorial this month just to hear all "the friends" tell me how much they missed me.
since i have left the meetings, (jan. was my last meeting, i think).
when I was still in and seriously depressed, I started going to a psychologist and psychiatrist and taking meds. A "strong" sister in the congregation asked me what the problem was. I said I wasn't happy. She said, "why should you be happy? No one else is."
I eventually got out and am much happier. I wonder how she is nowadays? She hated her husband and openly discussed getting a new husband in the "new world." I heard that her hated husband started attending the KH. Ooops, poor thing, screwed again.
our congregation is rationing regular bibles like they're gold bars.
i was told that bethel is out of stock!
anyone else hear about this?
well, if they're desperate, they should know every thrift store I've ever been in has several as well as many other kinds of bibles. Thrift stores around here don't charge for bibles -- you can get them free. (I wonder if they give out copies of the Koran for free too?)
on friday the 1st of march, i went to my cousins 21st birthday celebration - she has never been a jw.
my other cousins (twins) were introduced by my mother to the faith over 20 years ago (they are now 38) and got baptised when they were about 19. they both weren't that "strong" in the faith and married "worldly partners" and stopped going to meetings.. they knew i had left and i presumed they knew i was disfellowshipped for apostacy.. at the party the one twin came over to me and we chatted about life etc and she says "oh carl is going to start studying" - i looked at her a little odd and asked what it was as he already had a financial degree.
"no silly, he is going to study the truth" my face must have been a picture and in a very high voiced squeaked why would he ever consider that, he is an intellecutal guy....... she continued about how the people had changed and were so much better than when we were younger.
Good for you, LouBelle -- stand tall and tell the truth.
.
if i had to pick only one, it would have to be butterscotch square.
just lois.
Butterscotch squares, and those caramel-marshmallow candies, and the dark chocolate cherry, dark chocolate raspberry, and especially the seasonal apricot bon-bons.
You can see why I avoid See's store as much as possible, I like too many of them.
dear friends:.
forty-five years ago i was out in service with an elder, and we came upon a house where the owners kindly received us.
this was not so unusual as the family was jehovah's witnesses.
Dear Mike, I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time. I'm sending my love, wish I could visit face-to-face with you and Coco.
