Congratulations to you for completing the book. I hope it gets a wide audience. I'll put a link on my facebook page so a few more people can hear about it.

My Review for Terry's new book, "I Wept by the Rivers of Babylon, A Prisoner of Conscience in a Time of War"
by AndersonsInfo ingrappling with conscience .
a must read, i wept by the rivers of babylon,a prisoner of conscience in a time of war, is an important self-portrait of a naive young man, terry walstrom, who in 1967 thought he was obeying his conscience when he refused to take up arms and kill.
inasmuch as he was a conscientious objector, walstrom could have availed himself of noncombatant service in the military, but he was opposed to that arrangement.

Fun dinner tonight with ex-JWs
by Hortensia ini got to meet some real live jwn posters tonight, they stopped here and we met for dinner.
i was nervous about it, but they are a lovely couple, very intelligent and fun.
i am sure i talked too much, it was all so interesting -- swapping stories about our jw histories and how we got out and what we're all doing now.

Athanasius -- yes, let me know if you visit here again and want to meet for coffee. Besides the Black Bear Diner, there's the Seven Suns coffee shop - except that they close around 4 p.m. But earlier than that it's a nice place, esp. out on the patio on a sunny day.

I thought you must at least be exaggerating a little bit, but no. My goodness, you are living smack dab in the middle of a very unique bunch of complete loons! Anyway, I'm sure you'll never get sucked into any more mind-control religions, so we're not too worried about your intellectual safety.
Yup, I live in crazy central. That's why it was such a good thing to meet you and your wife and your pooch. Sane people who can carry on a conversation without mentioning spirits or the universe or Telos or conspiracy theories! It was very refreshing. I guess you googled I Am and the St. Germaine folks. There's a Buddhist abbey here too. I had a wonderful conversation with one of them recently, about why they dress that way and why they walk around Mt. Shasta City with begging bowls as if they were in India. At least, I enjoyed the conversation. Not sure she did.

Wow! You know them, too! They told me about how much your cat loved their cute little mammal. Well, I kept my cat safely at home so she wasn't exposed to temptation.

Do you have any "one-liners" for drive-by witnessing?
by Faithful Witness ini am looking for things i can say in passing, when i meet some of my jw friends.
we used to attend meetings, but have not been officially recognized yet, as apostates.
we were good and curious students, but fell away and were choked out by weeds.. since i will be renewing my bible student status soon, i am hoping this will open more windows into the organization.

Someone her eon JWN brought up an extremely interesting point that was new to me: If JWs are allowed to take blood fractions, where does that come from? Whose blood is it? If they can accept blood fractions, why can't they donate blood?
The whole blood/blood fractions things is really screwy anyway. It makes no sense. Like a Jewish person being taught that pork is bad and forbidden, but pork fractions are allowed. Does that mean you can't eat a whole roast pig, but a pork chop is OK?

Yeah, that McD is in a very pretty location. A friend and I sometimes drive there for a burger and we sit in the car and watch the mountain, and do some great people watching too.

Update - Protest done - Hi Everyon
by LouBelle ini have been rather scarce i know, i've been so very busy with work that i don't really have much time to log on, and we had someone come into our home and steal our laptop, so haven't been able to log on at home either.. work is still going very well.
it's not easy cold selling, but i've had a good few ads come in and keep me ticking over.
every now and again i pop because i simply don't know what else management want me to do, i'm doing everything i can.

Nice to hear from you - being away from the board because you're happy and working hard is a good thing! Your protest sounds like fun. Just let us know now and then how you are doing.

The Elders have been demoted to Dukes
by Quarterback inaccording to the november wt study article, there a study lesson about 7 shepherds, and 8 dukes.
the interesting thing is par 17. it instructs the elders to not question the instrutions they receive during an modern day asyrian attack.
maybe some kool aid is coming.

Well, they're setting their members up for some reason. You'd think more of them would get a little concerned about these things, the GB setting themselves up as rulers, giving the elders a little ego boost and then saying, "obey, no matter what. Don't question, don't think, just obey."

I really liked them, hope they'll come this way again some day. I won't say who they are, they can share that info if they want to.
If any of you are driving way the hell north in California on highway 5, let me know. I'd like to meet more of you. We can meet for coffee at the Black Bear Diner. I'm surrounded by people who talk to Lemurians and think there's a city inside Mt. Shasta, it is nice to meet a couple of sane people!
