apostate is their name - I don't consider myself an apostate. I prefer the name my husband used to use - GDI - god-damned-independent. Of course that was a Republican speaking. I believe that everyone has the right to believe OR NOT to believe. You leave me alone, I'll leave you alone. Piss me off, I'm likely to get cranky with you. I also agree 100% with the statement that religions should not be allowed to violate the civil rights of others, and I might add, to claim special dispensation from the law - such as the Muslim woman who didn't want to uncover her face for a driver's license picture.

What "Type" of "Apostate" Are You? Conservative, Liberal or In The Center?
by minimus insome are very much out there in trying to bring the watchtower down.
some will go to extreme measures to see to it that everyone knows how wrong the witnesses are.
others are less demonstrative and more liberal as to their approach and of course there are certain ones that are pretty much in the middle...... where are you??

and this one:
4 cups crushed tomatoes (I used a little more--a 28 oz can and a 14 oz can)
4 c chicken broth
Simmer these together over medium heat for 30 min. Puree in small batches in blender or food processor with a few basil leaves.
Add:
1 cup heavy cream
lemon juice, sugar, and balsamic vinegar to taste - about a teaspoon each
salt and pepper to taste
Heat through, being careful not to boil. -

in a restaurant - gazpacho is my all time favorite.
at home, any home made soup is good. I recently found a recipe for homemade tomato soup that doesn't taste like catsup or barbecue sauce or marinara. It's from the South Beach cook book and soooooo good. -

Trolling Apologist vs. Informed Apostate - WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO CHANGE?
by BizzyBee inin the battle between apologists and apostates, who do you think more often comes around to the other point of view and why?.
imho, apologists (or trolls) are just potential apostates who need a little more time in the oven.
(in other words, they are not fully baked, only "half-baked.

gazpacho gazpacho gazpacho
although there are other soups that are wonderful too. I finally found a good recipe for just plain tomato soup that doesn't taste like catsup or barbecue sauce or marinara.
I think I misunderstood your original question - I think an informed apostate is more likely to change when they understand the reason to change, whereas the JW trolls seem entrenched in their beliefs and unable to change. However, if they are snooping around a controversial site like this one, there is hope yet!

I've always thought of him more as an anteater - with that long nose and stooping posture. Also the long tongue flicking out to gobble up little ants.

that pretty much lays it out, doesn't it> Seen this way it all seems so obvious, harder to see when you are a sincere believer who thinks these people are sincere, too and that they really want to help.

How to speak to anyone
by darth frosty inone of the most recurring problems for those unplugging themselves from the borg is finding new friends and establishing a new support group.
i thought this was a great e-book to overcome that problem.
i really have enjoyed reading it and it has taught me a lot.. .

yeah, ordinary conversation is still difficult for me, although I can expound on any number of things at great length. That's not conversation, though. I read part of the info on how to talk to anyone and it seems pretty useful. But, bedtime now. Will finish tomorrow.

I can't believe they just sat there...
by troubled mind insaturday i photographed a witness wedding .
during the part about the woman's role the speaker made the comment to the new bride ,"don't try to manipulate your husband .....we know how you women can be ...!".
my jaw noticeably dropped and i uddered " what the heck " as i looked around to look for support from other women there,.

yes, of the "your parents are a little strange, aren't they?" variety. When I explained why they wouldn't come into the church, it just left folks shaking their heads.
