I'm in a position to make a very difficult decision...
by FreedomFrog inok, here's the thing.... i have a 2004 ford taurus.
it's really nice with sun roof /power seats/heated side mirrors/the works and it's mine but with a payment of $310.
i was just offered to take a 1995 saturn (still runs decent) for the taurus but with the '95 i will not have a payment though there will be more maintenance on it.. i love my taurus, it makes me feel like i'm still human but i'm very much strapped with finances.

I will never buy a new car. Right now a friend of mine has a 06 F350 diesel he bought for over $50k and can not keep the payments up. I am getting ready to give him $25k for it so he can get out of the loan. He just paid off the depreciation for me and then some.

one in one out...odds of staying married...how long til you know?
by oompa init has been sadly interesting to see fadingeld's and others experiences unfold...wife out the door pronto and some not.

Keeping a marriage going is tough enough that I could not imagine a one in/one out scenario. Although my dad has been out for 35 years and still married to my mom for 45. So it can be done.

Any cigar smokers in here?
by marmot ini don't like cigarettes all that much (even though i actually tried to take up the habit, i found out i don't have an addictive personality - same reason why i'm not a coffee person either) but i do enjoy a nice cigar.
notice i said a nice cigar, not those nasty chemically-flavored things that taste like froot loops and smell like a crotch fire.
i'm talking about a nice cuban monte cristo or a real leaf-wrapped cigarillo.

The Ford Taurus is a very safe car in accidents. My wife has been a paramedic for 22 years and every time she has seen one in an accident they have protected the passengers very well. She drives a Taurus wagon right now.
Have you looked into re-financing the car loan? I did that a couple years ago and saved $2k in interest by going with a 1% lower rate. It's far easier then a home re-fi and I did mine through the mail with a Texas bank.

The Cubans are not the quality that they used to be since most of the good growers and rollers have moved to other countries. The Dominican Republic is producing some very good products. I would put a Fuente up against a Cuban Montecristo or Cohiba any day.
You just have to sample as many as you can to find your taste. The longer and fatter the cigar the cooler the smoke and your tongue will be able to pick up the tastes better. The hand rolled have a better and more consistant draw then machine.

Tobacco requires very alkaline soil so it was easier to mix the soil and maintain it in buckets. Buckets also allow the soil to heat up better then the ground soil does. As the plants got bigger I was able to move them around for the best sun exposure.
When I trimmed the suckers and topped the blooms I got a sticky residue on my fingers that I rolled up into a ball. Sorta a tobacco "finger hash" that was some amazing strong stuff to smoke.

I used to grow my own tobacco and roll my own stogies. Believe it or not you can grow tobacco in WA state. I even grew some under shade cloth for wrappers.
