Wow, this is really cool. I was just thinking of starting a Beatles thread, er well, sometime much later.
no time to read all posts now but just had to say, last night with cocktails and popcorn, hubby and I had a Sing Along with Beatles "#1" double CD. We are total Beatlemanic's = our version of a perfect romantic evening. Yep, we know all the words, even the obscure bits.
Hard for me to have a Fav Album but Rubber Sole is up there with Revolver.
Stones are among our all time favorites too. I see there is a thread on them also....

apostates at assemblys
by looloo ini was told not to even look at them when i studied, but i did not buy the satan stuff about them and said well what have the watchtower got to worry about if they have the truth and no skeletons in the closet ?
i was quite tempted to speak to them and felt rude and judgemental , what did you used to think about them when you were dubs in the trufff ?

I was always curious about them. 'Watch out for the Watchtower' over their bullhorn. One time my FIL, a very friendly fellow, always wishing to help, went up to one asking them to please not be so angry and the apostate began yelling and caused more attention. Pretty funny and everyone talked more about them than usual.
Years ago in LA at Dodger Statium there were a huge group all lined up the drive to parking, wearing Brown Paper Bags over their heads. Very entertaining

I LOVE fashion, High Heels and Dressing UP But as a Cleaning Lady I look really silly cleaning toilets in high heels. That is the one thing I miss about meetings, dressing up. I didn't do if for the attention, I just love good design and beautiful fabrics and Shoes! It is so sad to see all my beautiful clothing and Shoes just sit there with no place to go. I complained whenour assemblies were cut back because my wardrobe was effected. Every assemble and convention meant 'New Outfits'. Ah well, so it goes and for a good cause.
To Open Mind: During the last year of our fade, my husband intentionally would not bring his suit jacket so he would not be invited to conclude with prayer. But one time he was offered the loan of a jacket to be acceptable. He had to come out and tell the guy, No Thank you, if I wanted to give a prayer I would have worn one of my 30 jackets I have at home. You see he is kind of a cloths horse also. His closet is larger than mine so the moths are having a feast at our house these days.

did anyone on here ever have a paedophile in thier congregation?
by looloo inif so, did it bother you that he had been reprooved and forgiven rather than reported to the police?

I know of 2 in Yakima, Wa. Longs stories I won't go into but the point is that the congergation was never informed, never warned. These men were DF'd but no one knew why unless you were close to the victim familes. One was convicted and did serve some time and was eventually reinstated. Yet still there was no announcement to keep you children away from this man, no local needs part, nothing.
I only learned through congergation gossip. For once, thank goodness for gossip as I was a mother with 3 young boys.

My husband works at the local community college. Yesterday he said the witness's have a table set up with tracks, magazines and Video monitor running. 2 Brothers were there about 4hrs. He kept an eye on them from afar and never noted one student stop. Most of the time the 2bros were just chit chatting among themselves.
This is so funny. Tragic really, when they could be doing something, anything almost that would be more effective. Go visit the eldery, do some odd jobs for a widow, play ball with the teens, work in a soup kitchen., pick up trash.
The idea that a table full of WT literature is teaching the Good News of the Kingdom is very very sad.

Are You Ever Afraid To Post Your Views On This Board?

Yes, sometimes. Just as when F2F, I say most things with sugar on top. I really like folks who have the ability to say what they think, straight out. That's not me. I can give my opinion but will always post it as IMHO.
I do love reading a good ol rounder though. All you smarty pants types keep me entertained.
This place is great because we have All Kinds......that's what makes the world go round.
