I MAY VERY WELL MEET RINGO STARR!

newflash in the ongoing addiction and mania that started at age twelve when the national broadcast news showed pictures of these english boys with very, very long hair.

i stopped by a local grocery store b/c i was not certain that a challis scarf was wool or rayon b/c the fabric content is in arabic.

I am a Beatlemaniac too! They had me the very first time I heard them on KRLA radio in Cali, "I Saw Her Standing There".....my heart still beats faster whenever hear anything Beatle. I just saw Ringo in concert with his All Star Band in Or. He really likes to showcase other performers and it seems they all have a blast while on his tour.

I have a stairway / hall that we have made into our Beatle Gallery. I framed all my original Beatle LPs, ragged covers from carring them with me at all times. Also a poster I got at Capt Records on the anniversary of Johns death. It was a candle lite affair. Every ticket and piece of memorbilia I have from childhood. I never tire of walking down those stairs and singing a little "I Want To Hold Your Hand"

As far as getting an autograph, that would be cool but from what I understand Ringo does not give out his autograph unless it is to support his charity The Lotus Foundation. I could be wrong but that is what I heard from an art dealer selling is paintings. I got the Postcards from the Boys too, Adorable.

Hope it works out for you but even just a brush with anything Beatles is worth daydreaming about. Peace and Love

Ringing in the ears (Tinnitus)

i have had this constantly for 3 - 4 months now and am finally on some strong antibiotics at my request in case it's infected inner passage ways and sinuses because i do suffer allergies and blocked ear passageways.. anyway, if you are a closet hypochondriac in the making like me, you occasionally google things to see what's wrong with you and find references to horrendous things, which make you worry you're going to die, or start dissolving from inside out.. one such site about ringing in the ears is telling me i have some connection to the spirit realm which i can hear as a ringing in the ears.

if you don't believe me, google ringing in the ears metaphysics, and you will find it is spiritual data downloading, my heightened spiritual awareness, a choir of angels singing or the noise of the spirit realm which i haven't been able to hear until now.. i'm not sure just why there are so many theories, but when i followed some advice, and sat back in my chair and focused on the noise, it is as they tell me, a kind of vibrational thing, and a kind of relaxation can befall you.. .

i'm not saying i believe any of this, just saying, i can see where the theories stem from.

I have had Tinnitus for years. Allergy's and lots of ear infections as a child or current pain meds may be to blame but ??? don't really know for sure. I have learned to ignor the constant ringing but it does interfere with my hearing. I have a hard time hearning on the phone or when there is much background noise. I likey missed the message if a spirit was trying to tell me something. Call again when things quiet down.

over the years on jwn i have often found myself hunting through posts of newcomers, hoping against hope i suppose, that the newbie would be one of my former friends in the local congregation down the street.. i just find it hard to imagine that not a soul among these people has taken the courage to investigate their religion and leave like my wife and i have done.. as the local 'active apostate', i also supposed that at any moment some of the 'brothers' would come covertly to my home, knock and say something like " i am out - please let's talk about it, why i left, why you left.

but, none of the above has ever happened.

i did come across a local former jw here, from another congregation, and we have become good friends over the past few years.

I do it too, read posts hoping that I might personally know this person. I do have a few long time friends that post here but so far not one from my local area, that I have discovered. I had many very close friends when I was IN. I knew their way of thinking and secrets and desires. It is very hard to understand how a thinking person can stay IN. Why hasn't my dear friend who expressed doubts left by now. And the elder who stepped down because of the Rev Book revisions? The sister with the gay son that is shunned yet she is still close to. I know many people who have been unfairly treated by the Borg yet they stay. So I read the stories and hope that someday I will recognize a familar "face".

Nothing like a JW memorial service...

Offering my condolences Princess. Like you I have moved on and do not come here very often. But on occation I need to vent or read others comments so I don't feel so all alone. Just a few weeks ago my MIL called to let us know they would no longer be associating with us. She had been holding out hope that we would return to the "meetings" but now she has to take a "stand" in hopes that we would come to our senses. AS IF!

My hushand and I are heartsick because we love them but this new "stand" changes things. After some long talks John has concluded that he will not attend their memorial services when that time comes. They are elderly and could Go any time so we are ready. He is an only child and no other close family in so paying respect won't be such an issue. Their congo is their family and they have all shunned us for years. He will write an Obit to submit to the local newpaper because that will be the only way to eulogies his parents.

Designs is so Right On, JW memorials are one long Infomercial and we are not buying it any longer.

We live in an area with many wineries so sometimes after service on a Sat afternoon we would go wine tasting. Soon there was a "local needs" talk stating that the purpose of wine tasting was to get drunk and so such activity would be wrong. We didn't stop wine tasting we just did it on the qt. And wearing denim skirts was a no no.

I know one Jdub that read it cover to cover. She often declared she had the equivalance of a college education from reading the Awake for over 30yrs. :-/

Did anyone find the movie The Grey slightly offensive?

its portrayal of grey wolves was horribly inaccurate.

it will probably lead to an even more negative attitude toward wolves, which puts them in more danger.

i believe i read that the creators bought dead wolves while producing the movie.. its main characters' philosophizing was pretentious, cliched, and insulting to my intelligence.

A really great movie about wolves is from 1983 "Never Cry Wolf" One of my all time favorites.
