Dec.21st and the countdown to the Mayan Apocalypse
by designs indecember 21 marks the winter solstice and the end of a cycle called the 13th b'ak'tun.. 1.will we see a few who want to join the celestial parade ala those who wanted to hop on a comet a few years ago.. 2.should koolaid and vodka be banned dec. 20th.. 3.will the wt.
come out with an article making fun of those who 'falsely predict the end of the world' .

SAD news about OOMPA......

just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

I could not find words as my heart is in my throat. But I wish my name to be posted in support of all grieving dear Oompa. I am filled with sorrow, grief and Anger. The GDF'n Religion sucked the life out of another of our loved ones. None of us are going to get out of this alive, we learned TTATT and there is no Paradise waiting just over the rainbow. So it is. So it goes.
He is gone too soon from us yet he is no longer in pain, may we find comfort knowing that.

Eric Reeder's Memorial?
by NeverKnew ini've seen the insulting obituary and like all of you, i'm blown away.. i've also seen several threads of individuals crying out for an opportunity to meet with others on this board.
maybe it's time to recognize the need for an assembly (if you will) to foster a familial relationship for those on this board!.
what if a memorial were planned, in eric's honor of course, for a weekend next september in north carolina?

IMO Great Idea! Bravo! I cannot say for sure that I could attend but I will Commit to Supporting this cause. A Memorial is an opportunity to honor and remember a life, a friend, a brother. For me, that would be the purpose. The side effect would also be a Peaceful Demonstration to those who caused his pain and sorrow to grow to the point he could no longer endure.
I say, Shout it from the rooftops, Announce it, Post It and Book It.

I am sorry Magwitch if I offended you. It was not my intention to harm the memory of your grandmother. I am happy you have comfort knowing she found purpose in her lifetime.
The title of the post is a statment of your opinion. Thank gawd we have JWN to vent our feelings and opinons. I think most if not all here would offer sympathy for your loss. And because this is often a forum to debate the WTBS experience some will offer a difference of opioion.
NO, I did not compare this grandmother to Hitler. I used the analogy that anyone supporting a harmful organization or culturally taught oppression, even unknowingly, would be held responsible for such support. It belongs to everyone to educate themselves as to what a organization teaches if they devote and dedicate their lives to it.
I was a very happy and joyful Jdud for 50yrs. When I learned the TTATT, The Truth About The Troof, I picked myself up and walked out the door. I also begged forgiveness for my ignorance to my children and grandchildren even though it was bliss at the time.

Firsty I offer great sympathy for the lose of you grandmother Mag. My own mother is 93 and the most happy and fulfilled lifelong Jdub you could ever meet. She is a loving mother and friend and I will be heartbroken when she is gone. Yet I do agree with Jook that all Jdubs hold responsibility for supporting and teaching a selfrightous, arrogant judgemental lifestyle.
There may have been some 'happy and friendly' Nazi's. And how about a 'nice' slave owner, should they be held accountable for their actions? I personally believe they must be.
I may have put it in a softer way but I have to agree that just because someone is a "nice old granny" does not mean they are off the hook for passing on the TTATT.

I live in Washington State but I spent the first half of my life in SoCal. I still consider myself a Calif Girl and it will always be home. The Beach and Disneyland were my backyards. I remember weekends we would snow ski on Sat and have a beach party on Sun....after the meeting, ugg.

Status, power and fame is what it's all about. Yes there are some that do serve out of 'love' but even those like the perks that come with the possiton. And the wives of elders, oh my, the swager and bragging that goes on. The phrasing many use tells it all 'Stan made elder' .....finally after all that time as a lowly MS.
