  i was baptized at the 1976 "sacret secret" dc at inglewood ca there must have been 50,000 people there..

  Orange County Fairgrounds, Costa Mesa CA, July 1967. I was 15 and did it because everyone else was. All I had to do was show up in the seats saved for baptismal candidates. The next year the candidates had to have a "study" with an elder so I got it done just under the wire. I was very very shy and elders scared me to death.

  After I married my 2nd husband in 1981 I found pictures of his baptisim....OCF DC 1967, a private home pool. We did not know each other at the time but I am in the background of his pictures. At the time we said jehovah must have brought us together.

  I had a set of JW Greeting Cards with Margeret Keene images and scriptures inside re Get Well, Have a Nice Day, ect. All the Big Eyed children playing in the New Order. Big Eyed sea creatures and lions, tigers and bears, all Big Eyes. I loved them so much I never sent them to anybody thinking one day I would frame them....hum, wonder where I put those?

  Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?

  a poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.

  break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.

  the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

  OK I'll take the OLD title too. I remember the 15min break well. The Talk and WT were a full 60mins ea not including songs and prayers. I will never forget the beautiful young DF'd woman who sat in a folding chair at the back of the hall, all alone, she never got up during the break. Just sat there as if she wore a scarlet letter. Sue Farr was her name, Huntington Beach, CA. My mother told me not to look at her but I was so sad for her.

  I also remember the announcment that the break was for time to engage in "intercourse" among the congergation. It wasn't until years later that I understood the term to mean anything but conversation between people. My mom used the expression commonly too without any question to it's double meaning. It was a very different "world" back then. I kinda miss it but then, nah.

  I have to route for the Royals! TAKE THE CROWN! My brother was a scout for KC for over 30yrs. He was instrumental in signing George Bret back in the 80's and wore a 1985 World Series ring. Have to admit I do not follow baseball closely but those last playoffs games were really fun to watch. The boys really had some terrific plays.

  Looks like tonights game goes to SF but we have 6 more Take The Crown!

  so the Paradise Lost book was like a zillion years ago, they didn't know any better, child psychology and how images impress on young minds. But they go and do it over and over and now it's is a Coloring Book! We just turned the pages and these kids are traceing the image and filling in the colors and shading for more details. This one clearly shows a womens Face. Ours at least was just a blurry mound.

  There must be a law, somewhere, this is child mental abuse. Form a committee.

  Hello, I have not posted here for years but the Coloring Book of Lots Wife has distrubed something in me. I saw it yesterday on FB so came here to see the discussion. I have been Out for over 10yrs and almost daily I am shocked by another WT revelation. This time the EXECUTION of Lots wife as a childs activity gave me a Flash Back to the first day I opened the Paradise Lost book when I was 7yrs old. That and the pictures of the Flood and Armageddon where burned into my mind. As I lay in bed last night I understood the impact those images have had on my entire life. I follwed to the letter the shunning of disfellowshiped ones, even relatives and close friends. I was 50yrs old before I became sensitive to the fact that my religion taught me not to care that 6 Billion people were to be Executed because they were not Jdubs.

  Tears are rolling down my face now as I realise thousands of children rasied by Jdubs are looking at those images right now. More minds are being twisted and desensitized. So sad and makes my stomach turn.

  JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?

  i saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.

  they were not actively approaching anyone.

  what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

  I was recently traveling, on vacation in Costa Rica. In La Foutuna, very small town in North Central CR I saw The Trolly! I had read here on JWN about the trolly but never seen it in WA State or anywhere in the US. All the literature was in Spanish and the two Jdubs attending were just as most you discribe, just chatting between themselves. It was a busy Town Square and no one approached them the whole time we were walking about taking pictures of the foutain and scupltures there. I was a little flustered by their presence so did not think to take a picture, sorry.
