helcon, i am the excact opposite. i think the black album was the beginning of the end. metallica was much better in the beginning. master of puppets, justice for all, ride the lightning, garage days, THAT is the metallica i like.
For some reason i could not get into the earlier stuff as i never had any of their album but over the years by going to concerts( only a few due that they don't tour oz very often) and collecting their earlier stuff i am now starting to appreciate them more. So many fan always said that they went commercial from the black album but if it wasn't for that one i would never had the pleasure to listen to them. I now have 2 young kids who now love them as well and i hope they are able appreciate them as much as i do. Helen

Being an avid fan of metallica i never knew this fact of dave mustaine.I think he is credited on some songs on the Kill Em' All album.
I only got to kno metalllica from the black album. But i have heard their earlier stuff, tis ok but like the newer music.

do the elders da people who quit going?
i quit going two years ago and when sisters came to my door one time and asked why, i told them that the elders are no different from the pharisees and that i don't want anymore to do with it.
no elders have ever visited me concerning this or any other matter.

I had a few sisters come and visit me when i left the JW.
Till one day a few years later i had 2 elders come to the door and ask what are you doing with yourself and what was my living arrangements(i was living with a guy) and then said i had to front a JC.
So when i left and when i got DF was 7 years.
Good luck but i think you are safe for now.
Though my mum has been inactive on and off for the last 20 years and they have never said anything well i think they have said something now as she has started going back to meetings again

I was still an semi active jw when i went out with my hubby. When i got caught out with him i had to tell him that i was a jw and there were restrictions that had to be in place.
He didn't care and we still went out with each other and we got married only not to cause shame for my family.
When we seperated and divorced i went out with a few other guys it was not the first topic of convo, but there was a guy who i lived with for a few years and i told him and he really didn't care. But was annoyed that the jw decided after so many years that i would be DF. That got him mad but it didn't change the thing for my family and still talked to me.
